Four Teams Book Their Place in the Semi-Finals

The road to Women’s World Cup semifinals has been full of exciting matches, close finishes, and impressive team performances. After 30 group stage matches played across England, Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies secured their places in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 semi finals.

While these four teams celebrated qualification, defending champions New Zealand and strong contenders India were out before the knockout stage. The group stage showed that every match and every point mattered in the race for the semi-finals.

    Australia Continued Their Winning Run

Australia were the strongest team in Group 1. They finished at the top of the table with five wins from five matches and collected 10 points.

One of the biggest moments of their campaign came in their final group match against India. Australia completed the highest successful run chase in Women’s T20 World Cup history by chasing down 171 at Lord’s. That victory not only confirmed their unbeaten record but also ended India’s hopes of reaching the semi finals.

Australia entered the knockout stage full of confidence and looked ready to fight for another world title.

South Africa Stayed Calm Under Pressure

South Africa became one of the Women’s T20 World Cup semi finalists after finishing second in Group 1 with four wins and one defeat.

The team remained consistent throughout the tournament and handled pressure well in important matches. Their balanced performances with both bat and ball helped them stay ahead of the other teams in the group.

South Africa once again proved that they are one of the most reliable teams in world cricket and deserved their place in the last four.

    England Dominated on Home Soil

Hosts England enjoyed a perfect group stage campaign in Group 2. They won all five of their matches and finished with a flawless record.

England played confident cricket in front of their home fans. Their batters scored freely, while the bowlers regularly picked up wickets at important moments. The team looked balanced in every department and entered the semi-finals as one of the favourites to win the tournament.

Their unbeaten run also gave them plenty of momentum before the knockout matches.

    West Indies Grabbed Their Chance

West Indies completed the list of Women’s T20 World Cup semi-finalists by finishing second in Group 2 with three wins and two losses.

Although they did not have a perfect campaign, the team fought hard in every game. Their strong net run rate helped them edge past other teams and claim the last semi-final spot.

West Indies showed great determination throughout the tournament and made the most of their opportunities when it mattered the most.

    How Teams Qualified for Semifinals

The answer to how teams qualified for semifinals was simple. Australia and England topped their groups after winning all five matches. South Africa secured second place in Group 1 with four victories, while West Indies claimed second place in Group 2 after finishing with three wins and a better net run rate than their rivals.

The group stage rewarded teams that stayed consistent across the tournament and handled pressure during key matches.

    Semi Final Schedule

In the first semi-final, Australia take on West Indies at The Oval in London on June 30.

The second semi-final will feature hosts England against South Africa at The Oval on July 2.

The winners of these two matches will meet in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 final at Lord’s on July 5.

    Final Thoughts

The road to Women’s World Cup semifinals featured thrilling cricket, memorable performances, and dramatic qualification battles. Australia and England reached the knockouts with unbeaten records, while South Africa and West Indies earned their places through consistency and determination.

With four strong teams remaining, fans can now look forward to two exciting semi-finals and a thrilling finish to the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
