The third edition of the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026 has produced an exciting start, with the four participating teams battling for a place in the final. The tournament began on August 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi and will conclude with the final on September 2.

The Women’s DPL 2026 features South Delhi Superstarz Women, North Delhi Strikers Women, Central Delhi Queens and East Delhi Riders Women. The teams are playing a double round-robin format, with 12 league matches scheduled before the top two teams meet in the final.

    South Delhi Start Strong

Defending champions South Delhi Superstarz Women began their campaign with a 29 run victory over Central Delhi Queens on August 20. Captain Shweta Sehrawat led the side as they successfully defended their total.

North Delhi Strikers Women then opened their campaign against East Delhi Riders Women on August 21. The inaugural champions, led by Ayushi Soni, produced a disciplined all round performance to collect their first points.

The third match brought together two former champions. North Delhi Strikers posted 141/4 before restricting South Delhi to 131/5. Their 10 run victory gave them an important boost and moved them to the top of the standings.

    Central Delhi Fight Back

Central Delhi Queens responded strongly in Match 4, beating East Delhi Riders Women on August 23. Led by Soni Yadav, the Queens secured valuable points and kept themselves in the race for a top two finish.

South Delhi then completed a double over Central Delhi in Match 5. The defending champions won by 11 runs in another closely fought contest, strengthening their position near the top of the table.

Match 6 saw East Delhi Riders take on North Delhi Strikers on August 25. The reverse fixture was another important game as the teams looked to improve their position ahead of the second half of the competition.

    North Delhi Lead the Race

The current Women’s DPL 2026 results have left North Delhi Strikers Women at the top of the standings. Their strong bowling performances have been one of the biggest features of their campaign.

South Delhi Superstarz Women are also in a strong position and remain among the favorites despite their defeat against North Delhi. As defending champions, they have the experience required to handle pressure during the closing stages.

Central Delhi Queens sit third and remain within reach of the top two, while East Delhi Riders are currently fourth and need a strong run in the remaining matches.

    What Comes Next?

The second half of the Delhi women’s cricket league season promises to be crucial. With only the top two teams advancing to the final, every remaining match could have a major impact on the standings.

North Delhi will face Central Delhi in Match 7 on August 27, while South Delhi will meet East Delhi in another important contest.

The battle for the final should remain open until the closing matches. North Delhi currently have the advantage, but South Delhi’s experience and Central Delhi’s ability to win close games mean the race is far from over.

With the final scheduled for September 2, the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026 is set for an exciting finish as the four teams fight for the city’s women’s cricket title.
