England cricketer Danni Wyatt-Hodge has announced the birth of her first child with partner Georgia Wyatt-Hodge, sharing the news through an emotional social media message.
The couple confirmed the arrival of their daughter, Daisy James Wyatt-Hodge, marking a significant personal milestone. “Our beautiful girl is here and she is everything we could have dreamt of and more. Welcome to the world Daisy James Wyatt-Hodge 💕 20.05.26, 7lb4 💕 we love you endlessly,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post.
The announcement was met with widespread congratulations from teammates, former players and members of the cricketing community, as Wyatt-Hodge begins a new chapter away from the game.
Break from International Cricket
Wyatt-Hodge had stepped away from England duties during the ongoing home white-ball series against New Zealand to be present for the birth. England are currently preparing for a busy international period that includes a series against India and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
She is expected to return to contention ahead of the India series as preparations for the global tournament continue.
Personal Milestone Ahead of World Cup
The timing of the announcement adds significance to earlier remarks from Wyatt-Hodge about balancing her cricket career with family life. Prior to the birth, she had spoken about how meaningful it would be to have her child present if England were to win the Women’s T20 World Cup.
With Daisy’s arrival, that ambition now carries added personal importance.
A Distinguished International Career
Wyatt-Hodge remains one of England’s most experienced white-ball players. Since making her international debut in 2010, she has featured in nearly 300 matches across formats.
In T20 Internationals, she has scored 3,335 runs in 178 matches at a strike rate of 129.21, including two centuries and 21 half-centuries. Her highest score of 124 stands out among her notable performances, reflecting her aggressive approach at the top of the order.
She has also contributed with the ball, taking 46 wickets in WT20Is and 27 in WODIs over the course of her career.
