Indian fast bowler Kranti Gaud has revealed the emotional story behind her rise to international cricket. Ahead of India’s important match against Bangladesh in Manchester, the 22-year-old spoke about the sacrifices made by her family to support her dream of becoming a cricketer.

The inspiring Kranti Gaud story is one of determination, hard work, and family support. From a small village in Madhya Pradesh to representing India on the world stage, her journey has touched the hearts of many cricket fans.

Kranti Gaud Journey to Cricket Began with Family Support

Kranti comes from Ghuwara, a small village in Madhya Pradesh. Growing up, her family faced financial difficulties, and there was often a shortage of money. Despite these challenges, her parents continued to support her passion for cricket.

Speaking about those difficult days, Kranti shared that her mother made a huge sacrifice for her career.

“My mother sold her jewellery to buy me a proper cricket kit. That was a huge sacrifice. My family was doing so much for me, and that made me feel responsible. I wanted to give something back to them. I wanted to make their sacrifice count.”

This emotional moment remains one of the most important chapters in the Kranti Gaud journey to cricket.

    Breaking Social Barriers

Apart from financial struggles, Kranti also had to overcome social challenges. In her village, many girls were not encouraged to step outside their homes or pursue sports.

However, her parents stood firmly by her side and never allowed outside opinions to affect her dreams.

Kranti said that her parents always believed in her and never made her feel that she was doing something wrong. Their support gave her the confidence to continue working towards her goals.

Their faith in her abilities played a major role in shaping the successful cricketer she is today.

From Village Cricket to International Success

The Kranti Gaud story changed dramatically when she started making a name for herself in domestic cricket.

During the 2024 and 25 season, she helped Madhya Pradesh win their first Senior Women’s One Day Trophy title. Her brilliant performance in the final, where she picked up four wickets, brought her into the spotlight.

Her success earned her a Women’s Premier League contract with UP Warriorz in 2025. Soon after, she received her first India call-up and made her international debut against Sri Lanka.

She continued her rapid rise by producing a memorable bowling performance against England and later became one of India’s key players during the country’s historic Women’s ODI World Cup triumph in 2025.

    Inspiring the Next Generation

Kranti’s success has created a positive impact in her hometown. Following her World Cup achievements, a cricket academy was established in Ghuwara.

Many local families who were once hesitant about allowing girls to play sports are now encouraging their daughters to take up cricket.

For Kranti, this change is one of her greatest achievements.

    Conclusion

The Kranti Gaud journey to cricket is a powerful example of how family support and determination can help overcome any obstacle. From her mother’s sacrifice to her rise as an international star, the Kranti Gaud story continues to inspire young cricketers across India.

Her success is not only a personal achievement but also a symbol of hope for countless young girls chasing their dreams.
