Australia Ends India’s World Cup Dream

The India Women vs Australia Women review tells the story of a thrilling contest that ended in heartbreak for India. Australia defeated India by six wickets at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The victory helped Australia reach the semi-finals along with South Africa from Group 1, while India’s campaign came to an end.

India put up a strong total of 170 for 4 in 20 overs, but Australia’s experienced batting line-up chased the target in just 19 overs. It was another example of Australia’s ability to stay calm in pressure situations and finish important matches.

    Match Summary

India were led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who played a brilliant innings of 56 runs from just 27 balls. Her late attack helped India post a competitive score of 170 for 4.

Australia started the chase with confidence but soon lost three wickets. At one stage, they were 68 for 3 after 10 overs, giving India a strong chance to win. However, Ellyse Perry played a match-winning knock of 56 runs from 38 balls, while Ashleigh Gardner supported her with an outstanding partnership.

Australia reached 172 for 4 with one over remaining and won by six wickets.

    India Showed Great Fight

One of the biggest positives in the India – Australia Women’s T20 review was India’s batting effort. Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front with aggressive stroke play in the final overs. Her innings gave India a total that looked capable of defending.

India’s bowlers also made an excellent start. They removed three Australian batters early and created pressure during the first half of the chase. Shree Charani was India’s best bowler, finishing with two wickets for 32 runs.

Although India eventually lost the match, the team showed plenty of determination against one of the strongest sides in world cricket.

    Australia’s Experience Made the Difference

Australia once again proved why they are one of the best teams in women’s cricket. After losing early wickets, Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner remained calm and trusted their game plan.

The pair added a brilliant 100 run partnership that completely changed the match. They punished loose deliveries, rotated the strike well, and never allowed India to regain control.

Their partnership removed all the pressure and guided Australia towards another important victory on the world stage.

    Turning Point of the Match

The biggest moment in the India vs Australia women’s highlights came after the halfway stage of Australia’s chase.

Australia were struggling at 68 for 3 after 10 overs and still needed 103 runs from the final 60 balls. India looked to be in complete control.

Everything changed when Perry and Gardner attacked Radha Yadav and Renuka Singh. Australia scored 17 runs in back to back overs, shifting the momentum completely. The sudden increase in scoring put India’s bowlers under pressure and made the chase much easier.

From that point, Australia stayed ahead and comfortably crossed the finish line with one over left.

    Final Thoughts

The India Women vs Australia Women review showed how small moments can decide big matches. India played well for large parts of the game and posted a competitive score, but Australia’s experience and match winning partnership proved to be the difference.

Although India’s World Cup journey ended in disappointment, the team produced many positive performances. Australia, on the other hand, once again showed their strength under pressure and earned a deserved place in the semi finals with another impressive victory.
