South Delhi Superstarz Women continued their strong run in the Women’s Delhi Premier League 2026 with an 11-run victory over Central Delhi Queens at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The South Delhi Superstarz vs Central Delhi Queens clash was reduced to eight overs per side because of rain, but the defending champions held their nerve to secure another important win.

South Delhi were asked to bat first and posted 68/6 in eight overs. Central Delhi Queens managed 57/5 in their eight overs, falling 11 runs short of the target.

    Shweta Sehrawat Leads South Delhi

South Delhi Superstarz Women got off to an attacking start through Priya Punia, who scored nine runs from just four balls, including two boundaries. However, her early dismissal put pressure on the middle order.

Captain Shweta Sehrawat then took control of the innings. She played a composed knock of 26 from 21 balls, hitting three boundaries and providing stability during a difficult shortened game.

Tanisha Singh added important runs in the middle overs, scoring 19 from 13 deliveries with three fours. Her aggressive approach helped South Delhi maintain their scoring rate after the loss of early wickets.

Late wickets prevented the Superstarz from reaching a bigger total, but Ananya Pahuja and Disha Nagar helped the team reach a competitive 68/6.

Central Delhi’s bowling attack also deserves credit. Sumiti Soni and Medhavi Bidhuri picked up two wickets each and kept the South Delhi batters under pressure.

    Central Delhi Lose Early Wicket

Chasing 69 from eight overs, Central Delhi Queens suffered the worst possible start. Opener Saachi was stumped off the very first ball without scoring, immediately putting the team under pressure.

Deeksha Sharma then led the recovery with an attacking 22 from 16 balls. Her four boundaries gave Central Delhi hope, but she was run out in the sixth over with the score on 41.

Arushi Goel scored 14 from 12 balls, while Monika contributed nine from six. However, the required run rate continued to rise and Central Delhi could not produce the big hits needed during the final overs.

Captain Soni Yadav and Riya Kondal remained unbeaten, but Central Delhi finished at 57/5.

    South Delhi Defend Total

South Delhi’s bowlers and fielders performed well under pressure. Roopali Vishwa Mohan, Disha Nagar and Ekta Bhadana each claimed a wicket, while the bowling unit kept the batters from finding regular boundaries.

The 11-run victory was particularly important because it marked South Delhi’s second win over Central Delhi in the tournament. They had already defeated the Queens by 29 runs in the season opener.

    Important Win for Defending Champions

This Women’s DPL 2026 result strengthens South Delhi’s position in the top two and keeps them on track for another appearance in the final.

While Central Delhi Queens Women’s DPL campaign suffered another setback, South Delhi Superstarz Women’s DPL campaign continues to gather momentum.

With the league entering an important stage, South Delhi will be confident about defending their title. Their ability to win a rain-shortened match by controlling the key moments could prove valuable as the race for the final intensifies.
