Delhi Premier League breakout star Medhavi Bidhuri has made a special request to her cricketing idol Virat Kohli after her rise to fame during the 2026 women’s Delhi Premier League. The young leg-spinning all-rounder has attracted plenty of attention after her viral wicket celebration and strong performances on the field.
Medhavi Bidhuri DPL 2026 journey has turned her into one of the names to watch in Delhi cricket. However, despite gaining a large number of new followers on social media, Bidhuri has revealed that there is one particular follow she wants more than any other.
Medhavi Bidhuri Wants Virat Kohli Follow Back
Speaking to reporters after becoming popular online, Bidhuri openly admitted that she wants a follow-back from Kohli.
“I have got so many followers now, but I want a follow-back from him,” she said.
This Medhavi Bidhuri – Virat Kohli connection comes from the youngster’s admiration for the former India captain. She has identified Kohli as one of her biggest cricketing inspirations. Former India women’s captain Mithali Raj is another player she looks up to.
For Bidhuri, getting a follow from Kohli would therefore mean much more than simply gaining another social media follower. It would be a special moment for a young cricketer who has grown up watching and admiring one of India’s biggest sporting stars.
Bidhuri Once Missed Meeting Kohli
Bidhuri also recalled an opportunity when she was training at the Delhi and District Cricket Association grounds while Kohli was present at the same venue. However, the two did not get a chance to meet.
That missed meeting makes her current request even more interesting. While Bidhuri has not yet managed to meet her idol, her performances have now given her a growing platform and a chance to publicly share her admiration for Kohli.
She also has a clear ambition for her future. Bidhuri wants to play in the Women’s Premier League and hopes to represent Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Her choice is closely linked to Kohli’s long association with the franchise.
Viral 6 – 7 Celebration Makes Her Famous
Medhavi Bidhuri special request came after her unusual wicket celebration became a viral sensation. Playing for Central Delhi Queens against South Delhi Superstarz in the opening match of the 2026 WDPL, Bidhuri dismissed Nishika Singh before celebrating with a “6 – 7” hand gesture.
The celebration quickly spread across social media and brought attention to the young cricketer. Bidhuri later explained that her preferred jersey number was 12, but it was already taken. Her younger sister then suggested the number 67 and the accompanying hand gesture.
What began as a playful celebration soon became closely associated with Bidhuri.
More Than Just a Viral Celebration
While the social media attention has made her more popular, Bidhuri’s cricketing performances show that she is more than an internet sensation. She took 2/24 in the tournament opener and had already impressed in Delhi domestic cricket.
In the 2025 DPL final, she claimed 3/26 to help South Delhi Superstarz win the title. Her ability as a leg-spinner and useful lower order batter has made her an exciting prospect in Delhi cricket.
At just 20 years old, Bidhuri is already thinking about the next stage of her career. A place in the WPL is one of her biggest goals, and playing for RCB would make that dream even more special.
For now, though, the youngster has one simple wish. After gaining thousands of followers through her cricketing performances, Medhavi Bidhuri is hoping the biggest name on her wish list – Virat Kohli – finally hits the follow button.
