Pakistan Women have unveiled a 15-member squad for their upcoming home white-ball series against Zimbabwe, beginning with a three-match ODI leg scheduled from May 4 to 9 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
All-rounder Fatima Sana will continue to lead the side, while left-arm spinner Momina Riasat has received her first ODI call-up. The series is part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–2029 and serves as preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5.
Zimbabwe Set for First Pakistan Tour
This will be Zimbabwe Women’s first tour of Pakistan. The visitors are set to arrive in Karachi on April 29 and will train at the National Bank Stadium from April 30 to May 3.
The ODI series begins on May 4, followed by matches on May 6 and May 9. A three-match T20I series will then take place from May 12, with all fixtures scheduled at the same venue.
Pakistan currently sit fifth in the Championship standings with two points, having secured a win in their recent ODI series despite an overall defeat to South Africa earlier this year.
Focus on Leadership and Balance
Fatima Sana’s captaincy will be closely watched following Pakistan’s 2-1 defeats to South Africa in both ODI and T20I series earlier in the year. The squad combines experienced players with emerging talent.
Muneeba Ali and Najiha Alvi will provide wicketkeeping options, while the bowling attack features Nashra Sundhu, Diana Baig and Syeda Aroob Shah, offering variety suited to Karachi conditions.
Squad Blends Experience and Youth
The inclusion of Momina Riasat is a notable addition, reflecting Pakistan’s intent to integrate younger players into the setup ahead of upcoming global events.
Senior players such as Sidra Amin and Nashra Sundhu add experience to the lineup, giving the squad a balance of established performers and new faces.
