China Women began their T20I Tri-Series campaign with an 18-run victory over Oman Women via the DLS method in Hangzhou on August 20.
After posting 99/1 in 13 overs, China kept Oman under pressure throughout a rain-shortened chase, with the visitors finishing on 34/4 in seven overs while pursuing a revised target of 53.
Wang Huiying Anchors China Innings
China made a steady start through Wang Huiying and Wei Haiting, who added 66 runs for the opening wicket.
Wang remained unbeaten on 40 from 34 balls, striking three fours and controlling the innings through the middle overs.
Wei contributed 26 from 27 deliveries, including three boundaries, before becoming Oman’s only wicket when she was caught off Pia Sharma.
Zhu Provides Late Acceleration
Following Wei’s dismissal, Mingyue Zhu injected momentum into the innings.
She blasted an unbeaten 29 from just 17 balls, hitting two fours and a six while sharing an unbroken 33-run partnership with Wang.
China closed on 99/1, scoring at more than 7.5 runs per over.
Pia Sharma finished as Oman’s only wicket-taker with 1 for 20, while the rest of the attack struggled to contain the scoring.
China Bowlers Keep Oman Quiet
Rain reduced Oman’s chase to seven overs, with a revised target of 53.
China struck immediately when Ma Ruike bowled Trupti Pawde for a duck.
Nitya Joshi made 10, while captain Fiza Javed scored 9, but both fell before Oman could build any momentum.
A run-out further dented the chase as Luijaina departed without scoring.
Wang Huiying, Zhao Yihan and Ma Ruike claimed one wicket each, while Jiaping Li delivered two economical overs for just nine runs.
Comfortable DLS Victory
Amanda Dacosta remained unbeaten on 11, but Oman never recovered from their early setbacks and finished on 34/4, 18 runs short under the DLS method.
China’s balanced performance with both bat and ball ensured a winning start to the tri-series.
Wang Huiying’s unbeaten 40 laid the platform, while Zhu’s quickfire cameo and a disciplined bowling effort completed a comprehensive victory for the hosts.
