Ireland Women claimed a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan Women in the third match of the Ireland Women’s Tri-Nation T20I Series 2026 in Dublin. The result gave Ireland their first win of the tournament after they had lost their opening game against West Indies Women.
Several records fell as Ireland delivered an impressive performance shortly before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The chase became Ireland’s highest successful run chase in any women’s T20I match. They reached Pakistan’s 176/6 with only three wickets down and five balls remaining, which is a positive sign less than two weeks before the T20 World Cup begins.
Rebecca Stokell led Ireland’s chase with an outstanding unbeaten 60, the highest international score of her career. Opener Amy Hunter also made a major contribution with 56 at the top of the order.
Orla Prendergast added an important 33 late in the chase, while Stokell praised the support she received from her teammates as she stayed focused at the crease.
“I was struggling a bit initially so I concentrated on trying to build a partnership with Amy at the start as she was hitting it really well,” Stokell said.
“When Orla came in I don’t think there’s anyone else you’d want to bat with in that situation. I really enjoyed it out there and I’m glad we got the win.”
Earlier, Pakistan had been driven by a rapid innings from Muneeba Ali, who made 65 at the top of the order. However, their total was not enough as Stokell guided Ireland home in the final over.
The win was Ireland’s first in the ongoing tri-series they are hosting. West Indies remain unbeaten at the top of the table, while Pakistan sit third after failing to win either of their first two matches.
