Pakistan batter Gull Feroza has been fined 10% of her match fee and handed one demerit point for showing dissent during Pakistan’s Women’s Asia Cup 2026 clash against Hong Kong in Dubai. The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that Feroza breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

The decision adds another disciplinary issue to Pakistan’s campaign in the tournament. It also comes only a day after Pakistan captain Fatima Sana received a similar punishment during the competition.

What Happened During Pakistan vs Hong Kong?

The incident involving Feroza took place during the fifth over of Pakistan’s innings on September 7, 2026. The Pakistan opener attempted to play a sweep against Hong Kong captain Kary Chan but was given out leg before wicket.

Feroza appeared unhappy with the decision and gestured towards her bat, indicating that she had made contact with the ball before it hit her pads. Her reaction was considered dissent towards the umpire’s decision and resulted in an ICC Code of Conduct charge.

The charges were brought by on-field umpires Rabab Ahsan and Rokeya Sultana, third umpire Shivani Mishra and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir. Feroza admitted the offence and accepted the proposed sanction from Emirates ICC Match Referee Supriya Rani Das.

As a result, there was no requirement for a formal hearing.

Feroza Now Has Two Demerit Points

The latest punishment has added one demerit point to Feroza’s disciplinary record. This is significant because the batter had already received a demerit point during Pakistan’s Women’s T20 World Cup match against Australia in June 2026.

The earlier incident involved Feroza throwing her gear in frustration. Gull Feroza’s latest news of another offence now add up to that, resulting in two demerit points within a 24-month period.

    Another Disciplinary Issue for Pakistan

Feroza’s punishment has added to the Pakistan Women Asia Cup controversy surrounding the team’s recent matches. Captain Fatima Sana was fined 10% of her match fee and handed one demerit point just 24 hours before Feroza’s punishment.

Fatima was penalized for making an improper send-off gesture towards the pavilion after dismissing India opener Shafali Verma.

The back-to-back incidents have put the team under additional attention during the tournament and represent the latest Women’s Asia Cup disciplinary action involving Pakistan players.

    Difficult Tournament for Feroza

The disciplinary issue has also come during a difficult batting campaign for Feroza. She was dismissed for a duck against Thailand and again failed to score against India before managing only three runs against Hong Kong.

Despite those individual setbacks, Pakistan managed to defeat Hong Kong and secure their place in the semi-finals.

For Pakistan, maintaining discipline will now be another priority as the team enters the knockout stage. However, the focus of Pakistan women’s cricket latest news and the team remains on results in the remainder of the Asia Cup.
