The Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2026 has started with plenty of excitement, close finishes and impressive individual performances. The tournament has expanded to four teams this season, with Jamaica Empress Women joining Trinbago Knight Riders Women, Barbados Royals Women and Guyana Amazon Warriors Women.
The opening three matches have already produced a thrilling one-wicket finish, a comfortable victory for Trinbago Knight Riders and a strong bowling performance against Jamaica. With the competition being played at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, teams have already shown the importance of adapting quickly to the conditions.
Trinbago Start With Victory
The first match saw Trinbago Knight Riders Women defeat Barbados Royals Women by 21 runs on September 5. Trinbago scored 155 before being bowled out in 20 overs, with Laura Harris making 38 and Yastika Bhatia adding 35.
Barbados had some strong bowling performances, with Qiana Joseph taking three wickets while Hayley Matthews and Suzie Bates claimed two each. However, their batting struggled during the chase as they were bowled out for 134 in 18.4 overs.
Indian pacer Shikha Pandey was the star for Trinbago, taking 3 for 17 in her four overs. Deandra Dottin also contributed with two wickets as Trinbago secured the first win of the tournament.
Jamaica Make Winning Debut
The second match produced one of the biggest Women’s CPL 2026 highlights so far. Jamaica Empress Women defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors Women by one wicket using the DLS method in a rain-affected contest on September 6.
Guyana posted 138 for 7 from 20 overs, with Shemaine Campbelle scoring 56 and Realeanna Grimmond contributing 45. Nonkululeko Mlaba was impressive with the ball for Jamaica, taking two wickets for just 15 runs.
Jamaica faced a difficult chase after the target was revised, but Chinelle Henry produced a brilliant unbeaten 41 from only 21 balls. Her innings included four sixes and helped Jamaica reach the revised target off the final ball with one wicket remaining.
Henry was named Player of the Match after giving Jamaica a memorable victory on their WCPL debut.
Trinbago Dominate Jamaica
The third match saw Trinbago Knight Riders Women take control against Jamaica Empress Women on September 10. Jamaica struggled with the bat after being asked to bat first and managed only 100 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Chinelle Henry was Jamaica’s top scorer with 22, while Trinbago’s bowling unit maintained pressure throughout the innings. Shikha Pandey conceded only 22 runs from her four overs, while Dottin picked up one wicket.
Trinbago then made a strong start to the chase, reaching 66 for 1 after eight overs. Yastika Bhatia remained unbeaten on 32 from 21 balls, leaving Trinbago just 35 runs away from victory when the available match update was recorded.
WCPL 2026 Points Table
Based on the completed matches before the conclusion of Match 3, Trinbago and Jamaica both had two points from one completed game, while Guyana and Barbados were yet to open their accounts.
The early WCPL 2026 points table shows Trinbago at the top because of their superior net run rate, followed by Jamaica. Guyana were third and Barbados fourth.
