Georgia Redmayne’s standout season with Queensland Fire was recognised with the Jodie Purves Trophy, awarded to the Player of the Year at the Queensland Cricket Awards 2026. Her performances across the campaign made her a central figure in the side’s batting unit, combining consistency with composure under pressure.

In a highly competitive season, Redmayne distinguished herself through both the volume of runs and the manner in which she constructed her innings. She emerged as a dependable presence at the top of the order, often providing stability in key moments and setting the tone for her team.

    Consistency Defines WNCL Campaign

A closer look at her WNCL 2025–26 numbers highlights the extent of her impact. Across 12 matches, Redmayne scored 558 runs, finishing with an average of 55.80. Her ability to build substantial innings stood out, while maintaining a strike rate of nearly 85.

Whether anchoring the innings or shifting gears later on, she demonstrated control over tempo and match situations throughout the season.

    Century-Making Impact

One of the defining aspects of Redmayne’s campaign was her conversion rate. She recorded four centuries — the highest by any player in the league — including one in the final.

Her highest score of 125* showcased a controlled yet assertive approach, and across the season she struck 59 boundaries. These contributions frequently played a decisive role in shaping match outcomes, offering both solidity and momentum to Queensland Fire’s batting efforts.

    Leadership and Composure

Beyond the numbers, Redmayne’s influence extended into her role within the squad. Her performances reflected a strong mental approach, consistently delivering across the season.

She remained not out in two of her 12 innings, underlining her ability to carry through and finish games. Apart from a single dismissal for a duck, her campaign remained remarkably steady.

    Recognition of a Complete Season

Winning the Jodie Purves Trophy reflects not only Redmayne’s statistical output but also her broader impact on the team. Her performances brought a sense of assurance to the batting lineup, allowing others to play with greater freedom.

For Queensland Fire, her form has been a significant positive heading forward. Her ability to combine technical skill with game awareness has set a high benchmark within the domestic circuit.

Redmayne’s 2025–26 season stands as a defining chapter in her career, marked by consistency, match-defining contributions, and recognition as one of the leading performers in the competition.
