Australia’s star opener Beth Mooney is back where she belongs. Following a sensational campaign in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the experienced batter has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings. The latest rankings, released on July 7, rewarded Mooney’s outstanding performances that helped Australia lift a record seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title.

The Beth Mooney ICC No. 1 batter achievement comes after another memorable tournament in which she delivered match winning performances when her team needed them the most.

    Outstanding World Cup Campaign

Mooney was named the Player of the Tournament after finishing as one of the leading run-scorers in the competition. She scored 238 runs in the tournament at an impressive average of 47.60 while maintaining an attacking strike rate of 142.51.

Her best performances came during the knockout stage. In the semi-final against the West Indies, Mooney remained unbeaten on 61 from just 36 balls, guiding Australia into another World Cup final.

She followed that innings with another brilliant performance in the final against England at Lord’s. Mooney scored 64 off 49 deliveries, playing a crucial role in Australia’s victory and helping the team secure its seventh Women’s T20 World Cup crown.

These performances strengthened her reputation as one of the greatest big-match players in women’s cricket.

Back on Top of the Rankings

The latest ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings see Mooney move back to the No. 1 position with 785 rating points. She replaces her Australian teammate Georgia Voll, who slips to second place with 779 points.

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt remains third with 771 points, while West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews is fourth with 754 points. India’s Smriti Mandhana completes the top five with 746 rating points.

For Mooney, this is the fifth time she has reached the top of the T20I batting rankings. She has now spent more than four years as the world’s top ranked T20I batter across different periods of her career, underlining her remarkable consistency.

The Beth Mooney ICC No. 1 batter milestone adds another impressive achievement to an already outstanding international career.

    Other Changes in the Rankings

The World Cup also brought several other changes in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings.

England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt climbed five places to 16th after producing several important innings during the tournament, including a fighting half century in the final.

South Africa opener Tazmin Brits also made progress by moving up three places to 11th after her valuable performances, including a crucial fifty in the semi final.

Meanwhile, India’s Shree Charani continues to lead the Women’s T20I bowling rankings, maintaining her place as the world’s No. 1 ranked T20I bowler ahead of England’s Sophie Ecclestone.

A Champion Who Delivers Under Pressure

Mooney has once again shown why she is regarded as one of the finest batters in women’s cricket. Her ability to perform in the biggest matches continues to separate her from the rest.

With another World Cup title, another Player of the Tournament award, and the Beth Mooney ICC No. 1 batter honour, the Australian opener has once again proven why she remains one of the biggest stars in the game.
