Uganda have named a 14-player squad for the Easter Women’s T20 Cup 2026, set to take place in Entebbe from April 9 to 15, as they continue to build on their recent progress in international cricket.

The tournament, featuring Uganda A and the United States women’s team, will be held at Entebbe Cricket Oval and offers an important opportunity for the hosts to fine-tune their preparations ahead of upcoming ICC events.

Uganda Squad for Easter Women’s T20 Cup 2026

    • Janet Mbabazi
    • Stephanie Nampiina
    • Immaculate Nakisuuyi
    • Ritah Musamali
    • Kevin Amuge
    • Esther Iloku
    • Proscovia Alako
    • Kevin Awino
    • Malisa Ariokot
    • Irene Mutonyi
    • Naume Amongin
    • Sarah Akiteng
    • Consylate Aweko
    • Shella Namagoba

Uganda enter the competition with a settled core group. Captain Janet Mbabazi continues to play a key role, while Ritah Musamali remains central to the batting unit. Musamali has accumulated more than 1,600 T20I runs at an average of 21.42, making her the team’s leading run-scorer in the format.

With the ball, Consylate Aweko stands out as one of Uganda’s most effective performers. The off-spinner has claimed 139 wickets at an economy rate below 3.8, underlining her consistency. Kevin Awino provides stability at the top of the order, with over 1,000 T20I runs, while also contributing behind the stumps. All-rounders such as Mbabazi and Immaculate Nakisuuyi add further balance to the lineup.

    Recent Form and Preparation

Uganda’s most recent campaign came at the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Tournament, where they secured two wins from seven matches. Despite the results, the tournament provided valuable experience against higher-ranked opposition and highlighted areas for improvement, particularly in batting consistency.

Prior to that, Uganda enjoyed a dominant series at home against Canada, completing a 5-0 sweep in the WT20I format with strong performances across departments.

The squad sees minimal changes, reflecting confidence in a group that has delivered consistent performances. Younger players, including Sarah Akiteng, continue to be integrated as part of the team’s long-term development.

    Development Squad Named

Alongside the senior team, Uganda have also announced a development squad for the tournament:

Phiona Kulume, Giringish Nabulime, Jimia Mohammed, Lorna Anyait, Immaculate Nandera, Mary Namiiro, Sarah Walaza, Asumin Akurut, Hope Mbeiza, Patricia Malemikia, Joan Ilora, Sarah Tino, Michelle Ariago, Irene Alumo

The Uganda A squad represents emerging talent from domestic and age-group pathways, providing players with exposure to competitive international conditions.

    Home Advantage Key

With matches taking place in Entebbe, Uganda are expected to benefit from familiar conditions, which are likely to favour their spin-heavy bowling attack. At the same time, the tournament will test their batting depth against varied opposition.

With an experienced senior side, a developing talent pool, and home conditions in their favour, Uganda will enter the Easter Women’s T20 Cup as strong contenders.
