Sri Lanka Cricket’s Selection Panel has announced a 15-member Under-19 women’s squad for the upcoming tri-series in Australia, with Chamodi Praboda appointed as captain. The tour will run from April 7 to 18, 2026, featuring two One-Day matches and four T20s.

The fixtures are scheduled for April 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, and 18, with the young Sri Lankan side set to face Australia and England in the multi-format series. The team is due to depart from Colombo on April 3, marking an important opportunity for emerging players to gain international exposure.

Balanced Squad Selected for Key Tour

The squad reflects a mix of developing talent across departments, with options in batting, spin, and pace as Sri Lanka aim to build depth at the youth level. Under the leadership of Chamodi Praboda, the group will look to adapt to conditions in Australia while competing against strong opposition.

Valuable Exposure Ahead of Future Challenges

The tour provides a platform for Sri Lanka’s young players to experience overseas conditions, particularly in Australia where pitches often offer more pace and bounce compared to subcontinental surfaces.

Competing at established venues and facing quality opposition is expected to test the squad’s adaptability and skillset. The series also highlights Sri Lanka’s continued focus on strengthening pathways in women’s cricket through youth development.

With six matches scheduled across formats, the tri-series presents an important step in preparing the next generation of Sri Lankan players for higher levels of competition.
