Thailand U19 Women delivered a composed all-round performance to defeat Hong Kong, China U19 Women after bowling them out for 68 in their U-19 Women’s T20 Challenge 2026 encounter. A disciplined bowling effort followed by a controlled chase ensured a convincing eight-wicket victory.
Thailand Bowlers Dominate Early
Hong Kong’s innings got off to a difficult start when Poon Hoi Lam was dismissed for a duck early on. Tejasvi Rajaram (10 off 31) and Fatima Amir (12 off 19) attempted to rebuild, but both were run out, reflecting sharp fielding from Thailand.
Emily Dickinson added 6 off 12 balls before falling to Patcharaporn Sorntha, who continued to make an impact by dismissing Kashvi Thakkar for a duck. Myra Mukherjee (1 off 7) and Xanthe Ganesan (8 off 23) struggled to accelerate as Thailand maintained control through the middle overs.
Storm Parker provided some late resistance, remaining unbeaten on 16 off 19 balls, while Sakura Panckhurst (2) and Poon Hoi Ching (1*) added minimal contributions. Hong Kong finished on 68/8 in 20 overs, with 12 extras boosting the total.
Sorntha was the standout performer, returning figures of 3 for 9 in her four overs. Kewarin Saechao supported with 2 for 15, while Pattamawadee Suriya claimed a wicket. Kesinee Keawjumpol (4 overs for 13) and Koranit Suwanchonrathi (3 runs conceded) kept the scoring in check, with Phonphimon Khongdee also maintaining pressure.
Calm Chase Seals Victory
Chasing 69, Thailand lost Phichamon Darajaroen for a duck in the opening over, caught off Storm Parker. However, Kunanya Inwin and Thanrada Seesawan quickly stabilised the innings with a 38-run partnership.
Inwin scored 17 off 13 balls, striking three boundaries, before being dismissed at 38/2. Seesawan anchored the chase with an unbeaten 30 off 40 balls, guiding the innings with composure.
She was joined by Koranit Suwanchonrathi, who added 4 off 6 balls as the pair put together an unbroken 33-run stand to take Thailand over the line.
Despite efforts from Hong Kong’s bowlers, including wickets from Storm Parker and Poon Hoi Lam, the modest target allowed Thailand to control the chase. They reached 71/2 in 10.2 overs to secure an eight-wicket win.
