Ira Jadhav has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in women’s cricket, combining record-breaking performances with rapid recognition at the domestic level. From a historic triple century to securing a ₹10 lakh deal at the T20 Mumbai Women’s League auction, the teenager’s rise continues to gather momentum.

Born on February 19, 2010, in Pune, Jadhav first came into the spotlight in January 2025 when she became the first Indian cricketer to score a triple century in U19 cricket. At just 14, she produced a remarkable innings of 346 from 157 balls for Mumbai against Meghalaya in the Women’s Under-19 One-Day Trophy. Her knock included 42 boundaries and 16 sixes, helping Mumbai post 563 for 3 in 50 overs.

Despite being listed in the WPL 2025 auction, Jadhav went unsold. She responded by continuing her performances in domestic cricket, maintaining consistency and building her reputation through runs rather than recognition.

Her efforts were formally acknowledged in March 2026 at the BCCI Naman Awards in New Delhi, where she received the Jagmohan Dalmiya Trophy for Best Woman Cricketer in the Junior Domestic category for the 2024-25 season. On the same occasion, Shafali Verma was honoured in the senior category, highlighting emerging and established talent together.

Jadhav’s progress continued at the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League auction on May 2, 2026, where the Aakash Tigers secured her services for ₹10 lakh. The signing stood out, particularly with the overall franchise budget capped at ₹1.47 crore for 50 players.

Following the auction, MCA President Ajinkya Naik said in a press release: “The inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League auction marks a significant milestone in our vision to strengthen the women’s cricketing ecosystem. Seeing a young talent like Ira Jadhav emerge as one of the standout picks today reflects the depth of promise in our grassroots structure and the opportunities this league is set to create.”

Jadhav also expressed her thoughts in an official media release: “I am really happy, and I hope I make the best of this opportunity. It is really good for young players like me to have such good exposure. MCA providing these facilities and venues like the Wankhede Stadium is a huge stepping stone for all of us.”

With her transition to a senior T20 competition, attention will now turn to how Jadhav adapts to the next level. Her performances for the Aakash Tigers are set to be closely followed as she looks to build on her early achievements.
