USA Women defended a modest total of 107 to secure a hard-fought 20-run victory over Uganda A Women in the Easter Women’s T20 Cup 2026, with Aditiba Indrajitsinh Chudasama delivering a decisive bowling performance.
After opting to bat, USA Women made a cautious start as Uganda A’s bowlers applied early pressure. Sainavi Kambalapalli scored 12 off 16 balls before falling to Mary Namiro, while Nikhar Doshi (13 off 19) was run out, reflecting sharp fielding from Uganda. Chetna Reddy Pagydyala followed soon after for 1, leaving USA in a delicate position.
Vaghela and Ganesh steady the innings
The innings was stabilised by Isani Mahesh Vaghela, who top-scored with 35 off 29 balls, including three boundaries. She formed a key partnership with Pooja Ganesh, rebuilding the innings after early setbacks. However, Vaghela’s run-out halted USA’s progress just as they looked to accelerate.
Ganesh remained unbeaten on 26 off 34 balls, anchoring the latter stages of the innings. Contributions from Gargi Bhogle (5 off 6) and Chudasama (9 off 7) helped USA reach 107 for 7 in 20 overs, though regular wickets prevented a stronger finish.
Uganda A’s bowling effort was led by Asumin Akrut, who returned 2 for 13 in 4 overs. Sarah Walaza (1 for 19) and others, including Irene Alumo, Tino Sarah, Lorna Anyait, and Immaculate Nandera, maintained control, while multiple run-outs highlighted their sharp fielding.
Chudasama leads bowling effort
Chasing 108, Uganda A lost Hope Shillah Mbeiza for a duck early. Jimia Abdallah Muhammed anchored the innings with 37 off 41 balls, supported by Asumin Akrut, who scored 23 off 36 balls. Their partnership kept Uganda A in contention despite the rising required rate.
However, once Akrut was dismissed, the innings lost momentum. Phiona Egaru Kulume (1 off 8), Giringish Shadia Nabulime (5 off 9), and Mary Namiro (0) fell in quick succession, while lower-order contributions failed to revive the chase.
Chudasama produced the standout performance with the ball, finishing with 4 for 12 in her 4 overs and dismantling the middle order. She was supported by Ritu Priya Singh (1 for 11), Sainavi Kambalapalli (1 for 12), and Taranum Chopra (1 for 12), all maintaining tight lines throughout.
Uganda A Women closed on 87 for 7 in their 20 overs, falling short by 20 runs as USA Women sealed a disciplined and well-earned victory.
