Bhutan Women are set to compete in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup 2026 in Malaysia, marking another step forward in the nation’s progress in women’s cricket across Asia.
The tournament, organised by the Asian Cricket Council and hosted by the Malaysian Cricket Association, will feature emerging teams from across the region and serves as an important platform for developing cricket nations to gain international exposure.
Group D Fixtures and Schedule
Bhutan have been drawn in Group D alongside Nepal, Hong Kong, China and Qatar, with all their group-stage matches scheduled at the KTJ Oval in Malaysia.
They will begin their campaign against Hong Kong, China on June 3, followed by a clash with Nepal on June 4, before concluding the group stage against Qatar on June 6.

Challenging Group Awaits
Bhutan enter the competition aiming to build on their recent development through increased participation in regional tournaments and bilateral series.
Their opening match against Hong Kong, China is expected to be a significant challenge. Hong Kong, China arrive in strong form after winning the Lotus Cup earlier this year, where they defeated Bhutan in the final. They also performed well in a recent Women’s T20I Tri-Series with multiple victories.
The contest against Nepal is another key fixture, with Nepal considered one of the stronger associate teams in the region. The matchup also carries added interest due to the growing rivalry between the two sides.

Bhutan will travel with an 18-member contingent, including 14 players and four officials. The team will be led by captain Anju Gurung, with Sonam Choden named as vice-captain.
