Australia opener Phoebe Litchfield has reached another major milestone in The Hundred, becoming the fifth player to score 1,000 runs in the Women’s competition. She is also only the second overseas batter, after South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, to achieve the landmark.
Litchfield reached the milestone during Sunrisers Leeds’ match against Welsh Fire on August 9 at Headingley. Needing 51 runs before the game, she produced a superb 55 from just 25 balls to lead her side to a comfortable six-wicket victory.
Opening the innings with Bryony Smith, Litchfield struck six fours and three sixes to dominate the chase of 122. Her match-winning knock earned her the Player of the Match award and helped Sunrisers Leeds strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout stage with a fourth victory of the season.
Milestone Built on Consistency
Litchfield made her Women’s Hundred debut on August 3, 2023, for Northern Superchargers, now known as Sunrisers Leeds. Since then, she has become one of the competition’s most consistent batters.
Across 34 matches and 33 innings, she has scored 1,004 runs at an average of 35.85 and a strike rate of 145.50, including five half-centuries.
Record-Breaking Form
Litchfield entered the match after producing one of the standout innings of the tournament.
Against Birmingham Phoenix on August 7, she blasted an unbeaten 71 from just 33 deliveries to guide Sunrisers Leeds to a nine-wicket win. During that innings, she reached her fifty in only 20 balls, setting a new record for the fastest half-century in Women’s Hundred history.
She was also named Player of the Match for that performance.
Leading the Run Charts
The Australian has been one of the stars of the 2026 tournament. She currently leads the run-scoring charts with 262 runs in seven innings at an average of 43.66 and a strike rate of 163.75, including two half-centuries.
By joining the exclusive 1,000-run club, Litchfield now stands alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt, Sophia Dunkley, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge and Laura Wolvaardt.
At just 23 years of age, her latest achievement further highlights her growing reputation as one of the most exciting batters in women’s white-ball cricket and one of the standout performers of this year’s Women’s Hundred.
