MI London and London Spirit produced one of the most dramatic finishes of the Women’s Hundred 2026 as their London derby ended in a tie at The Oval. Both sides finished on 151, making the contest only the third tied match in the history of the women’s competition.
MI London posted 151 for 4 before London Spirit reached 151 for 5 from their 100 balls, leaving the teams to share the points after a tense final set.
The result gave MI London their first points of the season, although they remain without a victory after four matches.
MI London Miss Chance to Secure First Win
MI London will feel they allowed a major opportunity to slip away. Their batters played with positive intent and set London Spirit a demanding target that would have required the third-highest successful chase in Women’s Hundred history.
After reaching 151 for 4, MI London appeared well placed to claim their first victory of the campaign.
However, London Spirit remained in the contest throughout the chase and held their nerve during a dramatic finish.
MI London now have two points from four matches and face a difficult task to remain in contention for the knockout stages.
Only Third Tie in Tournament History
The result joined two previous tied matches, both of which took place during the 2024 season.
Southern Brave and Northern Superchargers produced the first tie in Leeds before London Spirit and Oval Invincibles finished level at Lord’s.
With Oval Invincibles rebranded as MI London ahead of the 2026 campaign, London Spirit have now played tied matches against the same franchise under two different names.

Amelia Kerr anchored MI London’s innings with an unbeaten 49.
Chinelle Henry then provided the late acceleration, smashing 33 not out from only 12 balls.
Their contributions allowed MI London to reach a competitive 151 for 4 and put London Spirit under significant pressure.
Jones and Kelly Keep Spirit in the Chase
London Spirit responded through important contributions from Amy Jones and Marie Kelly. Jones scored 49, while Kelly struck 45 from 28 deliveries to keep the required rate under control.
Marizanne Kapp also played a valuable cameo, scoring 25 from only 13 balls.
Their efforts ensured London Spirit entered the final five deliveries needing nine runs to win.
Matthews Defends Final Set
Hayley Matthews took responsibility with the ball for MI London as Nadine de Klerk and Deandra Dottin attempted to complete the chase. Dottin struck a boundary before taking a single, reducing the requirement to four runs from the final three deliveries.
De Klerk was then dismissed, but Dottin and captain Charlie Dean collected three runs from the final two balls. That was enough to level the scores but not complete the victory, producing a dramatic tie.
Kelly Reflects on Strange Finish
Marie Kelly was named Meerkat Match Hero after her 45 helped London Spirit stay in the contest.
“I was so nervous sat on the side, not being able to do anything about it. I feel a bit flat that we’ve tied that one, we were in a great position at one stage, but they pulled it back really well. It’s a strange feeling.”
Her reaction reflected the mixed emotions of a contest in which both teams had opportunities to secure victory.
Spirit Move Up the Table
The shared points lifted London Spirit to fourth place with six points from three matches.
MI London collected their first two points of the season but remain winless after four outings.
The London derby ultimately delivered no outright winner, but it produced a memorable finish and another rare tied match in Women’s Hundred history.
