Yorkshire Women produced a dominant all-round display to secure an 83-run victory over Lancashire Women in Match 14 of the ECB Women’s One-Day Cup 2026, with Jess Jonassen leading the charge with both bat and ball.

    Early Setbacks Before Jonassen Rebuild

Yorkshire’s innings began on a difficult note as captain Lauren Winfield-Hill was dismissed for a duck by Kate Cross in the second over. Cross struck again soon after, removing Georgie Boyce for 4 to leave Yorkshire at 13 for 2.

Despite the early trouble, Sterre Kalis helped stabilise the innings with a composed 45 from 54 balls. However, her dismissal at 122 for 3 in the 23.4 overs left Yorkshire still needing a strong finish.

    Jonassen Anchors and Accelerates

Jess Jonassen then took control, producing a match-defining innings of 108 from 122 balls, striking 13 boundaries and two sixes. She shared a vital 109-run partnership with Kalis that shifted momentum back in Yorkshire’s favour.

After Kalis departed, Jonassen continued to anchor the innings, finding support from Ami Campbell (15), IL Blackwell (19), and Maddie Ward (17). Beth Langston added a quick 13 from 10 balls late in the innings, while Rachel Slater remained unbeaten on 5.

Yorkshire were eventually bowled out for 241 in 49.2 overs, with Jonassen’s century forming the backbone of the total.

Cross and Gaur Lead Lancashire Effort

For Lancashire, Kate Cross delivered an impressive spell, finishing with 4 for 38 from her 10 overs. Mahika Gaur also made an impact with 3 for 41, while Tara Norris, Grace Potts, and Hannah Jones picked up one wicket each.

    Jonassen Strikes Again in Chase

Lancashire’s chase of 242 never gathered momentum after an early setback, with Rachel Slater dismissing Eve Jones for a duck.

Darcy Carter (18) and Seren Smale (46 off 56 balls) attempted to rebuild, but Jonassen broke the partnership by trapping Carter lbw and later removed captain Eleanor Threlkeld for a duck, reducing Lancashire to 64 for 3.

Smale and Fi Morris (21) added some resistance, but Jonassen struck again to dismiss Smale, caught by Beth Langston. From there, wickets continued to fall regularly.

    Yorkshire Bowlers Seal Win

Claudie Cooper played a key role in the latter stages, claiming 3 for 24 in 6.4 overs, including important middle and lower-order wickets. Jonassen completed an outstanding all-round performance with figures of 4 for 30 from her 10 overs.

Beth Langston, Rachel Slater, and Maddie Ward also contributed with the ball as Lancashire were bowled out for 158 in 41.4 overs.

Hannah Jones remained unbeaten on 8, but Lancashire fell well short, as Yorkshire secured a comprehensive victory built around Jonassen’s century and four-wicket haul.
