India captain Harmanpreet Kaur praised her team’s ruthless approach after India produced a seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium. India’s bowlers delivered an outstanding performance before the batters completed the chase to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament.

The victory was particularly special for Harmanpreet, who reached a major milestone during the high-profile clash. The Indian skipper became the first cricketer in international cricket history to captain a team in 150 T20 Internationals.

Harmanpreet Kaur Praises India’s Ruthless Mentality

Speaking during the post-match presentation, Harmanpreet highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards regardless of the opposition or situation. She was delighted with the way her players followed plans and maintained their intensity throughout the contest.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s India – Pakistan clash assessment sums it up as another example of India’s ability to perform under pressure. The captain stressed that being ruthless was something the team had discussed before the tournament, and she was pleased to see those plans reflected on the field.

India’s bowlers were particularly impressive as they completely dismantled Pakistan’s batting lineup.

    India Spinners Dominate Pakistan

Pakistan were bowled out for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs, their lowest-ever total in Women’s T20I cricket. India’s spinners took every wicket to fall, producing one of the most dominant bowling displays of the tournament.

Shree Charani finished with 3 for 7, while Prema Rawat claimed 3 for 9. Deepti Sharma added 2 for 5 and Shafali Verma took one wicket for 10 runs.

Harmanpreet praised the entire bowling unit for understanding the conditions and executing their plans. She stressed that reading the pitch correctly and adjusting the bowling accordingly was a major reason behind India’s success.

Harmanpreet Brushes Aside India’s Batting Wobble

India were chasing only 56 but experienced a brief scare after losing three wickets for 29 runs. Pakistan captain Fatima Sana caused problems with the ball and finished with impressive figures of 3 for 17.

However, Harmanpreet was not concerned about the mini-collapse. She felt that such moments were part of the game and praised the batters for staying at the crease and completing the chase.

Harmanpreet herself played an important role, remaining unbeaten on 18 from 18 balls. She finished the match in style by hitting a six over long-on in the ninth over to seal India’s seven-wicket victory.

    Harmanpreet Kaur Reaches Historic Milestone

The match was also a landmark occasion in Harmanpreet Kaur’s Women’s Asia Cup campaign because of her captaincy milestone. She became the first captain in international cricket, across both men’s and women’s cricket, to lead a team in 150 T20 Internationals.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s interview on the achievement focused on expressing gratitude towards everyone who had supported her throughout her career. She admitted that she never expected to reach such a milestone and credited the people around her for helping her continue.

India Enter Knockouts With High Standards

India’s victory over Pakistan was their third consecutive group stage win after earlier victories against Thailand and Hong Kong. The result confirmed their place in the semi-finals as the top team in their group.

Harmanpreet also made it clear that India cannot afford to lower their standards in the knockout stage. With two more matches standing between India and the title, the captain wants her players to continue producing their best cricket.

The emphatic win over Pakistan has given India plenty of confidence heading into the semi-finals, while Harmanpreet’s historic milestone added another memorable chapter to an already dominant campaign.
