Pakistan Women slumped to the lowest T20I total in their history after being bowled out for just 55 against India in the ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium.
India Women produced a dominant bowling performance to defeat Pakistan Women by seven wickets. The Indian spinners completely controlled the game as Pakistan suffered a dramatic batting collapse, setting an unwanted national record on one of the biggest stages in Asian cricket.
Pakistan Bowled Out for Historic Low
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Pakistan made a promising start, reaching 23 without loss inside the opening four overs.
However, the innings unraveled rapidly once Shafali Verma provided India with the breakthrough in her first over. Pakistan slipped to 29/3 by the end of the powerplay before India’s spinners completely took control.
Deepti Sharma, Prema Rawat and Shree Charani strangled the batting line-up as wickets fell at regular intervals. Pakistan collapsed from 27/0 to 35/6, with only a brief partnership between Umma-e-Hani and Eyman Fatima delaying the inevitable.
A run-out ended the resistance before Pakistan were dismissed for just 55 in 18.1 overs.
Pakistan Women’s Lowest T20I Totals
- 55 vs India, Dubai (2026)
- 56 vs New Zealand, Dubai (2024)
- 60 vs England, Taunton (2009)
- 63 vs India, Guangzhou (2012)
- 65 vs West Indies, St Andrew’s (2011)
The total surpassed Pakistan’s previous lowest T20I score of 56, recorded against New Zealand during the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, also in Dubai.
Shree Charani and Prema Rawat Destroy Pakistan’s Batting
Pakistan started the innings positively after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Muneeba Ali and Shawal Zulfiqar added 27 runs during the first four overs and appeared to give Pakistan a solid start.
However, the introduction of spin changed the game completely. Harmanpreet Kaur brought Shafali Verma into the attack, and she immediately dismissed Muneeba for 13.
Shree Charani then produced a brilliant spell. The left-arm spinner removed Gull Feroza for a duck before trapping Shawal Zulfiqar lbw for 14. She struck again in her next over by dismissing Ayesha Zafar for two runs, leaving Pakistan struggling at 32/4.
Charani finished with excellent figures of 3/7 from four overs and was named Player of the Match.
Prema Rawat Adds More Pressure
Prema Rawat continued India’s excellent work with the ball. The leg-spinner attacked the stumps and finished with 3/9 from her four overs.
Rawat bowled Sadaf Shamas before Umme Hani was caught at short fine leg. She then completed her three wicket haul by catching Nashra Sandhu off her own bowling.
Deepti Sharma also played an important role, taking 2/5 from 3.1 overs. India’s bowlers created huge pressure throughout the innings, delivering 78 dot balls from 109 legal deliveries.
Pakistan lost six wickets for just nine runs during a dramatic collapse and were eventually bowled out for 55.
Shafali Verma Reaches 3,000 T20I Runs
India’s chase began with another historic moment. Shafali Verma smashed the first ball for six and took a single from the second delivery to cross 3,000 runs in Women’s T20I cricket.
At 22 years and 220 days, Shafali became the youngest player to reach the landmark. She also became the fastest player to 3,000 Women’s T20I runs in terms of balls faced.
However, Pakistan captain Fatima Sana briefly gave her team hope. She dismissed Shafali for 12, Pratika Rawal for four and Smriti Mandhana for nine, reducing India to 29/3.
India’s Bowlers Dominate
India’s disciplined bowling attack never allowed Pakistan to recover after the early breakthrough.
The spin trio of Deepti Sharma, Prema Rawat and Shree Charani applied relentless pressure through the middle overs, while sharp fielding and disciplined bowling ensured Pakistan failed to build any meaningful partnerships.
The visitors were eventually bowled out nearly two overs before completing their allotted 20 overs.
Among India’s Best Performances
Pakistan’s total of 55 also became the fifth-lowest score ever recorded against India Women in Women’s T20 Internationals.
Only Malaysia (27), Thailand (37) and Bangladesh (51 and 54) have been dismissed for lower totals against India.
For Pakistan, the collapse marked an unfortunate milestone, with their lowest-ever T20I score coming against arch-rivals India in a crucial Asia Cup fixture. After opening the tournament with victory over Thailand, they now face a significant setback following one of the poorest batting displays in their T20I history.
