The occasion marks a new personal chapter for Peterson, who represented New Zealand in international cricket between 2012 and 2020.

Anna Peterson and Cate Herbert Share Wedding Photos

Peterson and Herbert celebrated their marriage in Wanaka, a town on New Zealand’s South Island known for its mountain scenery and natural landscapes.

Their Instagram announcement featured photographs of the couple together in their wedding attire.

The images captured the newlyweds outdoors, with both wearing white dresses and holding bouquets.

The accompanying message expressed their happiness about beginning married life together.

Peterson’s international career was defined by her contributions with the ball, particularly in high-pressure situations.

    Anna Peterson’s Historic T20I Hat-Trick Against Australia

One of Peterson’s most memorable achievements came on February 19, 2017, when she became the first New Zealand woman to take a hat-trick in T20 international cricket.

The milestone came against Australia during a series-deciding match.

Peterson dismissed Jess Jonassen, Alyssa Healy and Megan Schutt with three consecutive deliveries.

She finished with remarkable bowling figures of 3/2, helping New Zealand secure victory in the series.

The achievement established Peterson’s place in White Ferns history and remains one of the standout performances of her international career.

Peterson’s Match-Winning Final Over Against West Indies

Peterson also played a decisive role in New Zealand’s narrow victory over West Indies in 2018.

With West Indies needing just five runs from the final over and six wickets remaining, Peterson was entrusted with defending the target.

She conceded only two runs, claimed two wickets and contributed to a run-out.

New Zealand eventually won by one run.

The performance demonstrated Peterson’s composure and ability to deliver under pressure.

    Anna Peterson’s Domestic Cricket Career

Alongside her international appearances, Peterson enjoyed a lengthy domestic career in New Zealand.

She represented Auckland Hearts and previously played for Northern Districts, competing domestically from 2008 until 2022.

During her career, she reached the milestone of 100 wickets in domestic T20 cricket.

Her contributions helped establish her as an experienced all-rounder in New Zealand’s women’s cricket competitions.

After retiring from competitive cricket, Peterson moved into sports management and youth development, maintaining her involvement in sport.

Other White Ferns Who Have Celebrated Marriage Milestones

Peterson’s wedding adds to the personal milestones celebrated by former and current New Zealand women’s cricketers.

Former White Ferns captain Amy Satterthwaite married teammate Lea Tahuhu in March 2017. The couple have two children, Grace Marie and Louie.

Maddy Green and former New Zealand cricketer Liz Perry married in April 2019.

Another former White Fern, Hayley Jensen, married Australian cricketer Nicola Hancock on April 12, 2019.

These relationships have been part of the personal stories shared by players during and after their international cricket careers.

Anna Peterson Begins a New Chapter After Cricket Retirement

Peterson’s cricket career included international World Cup appearances, a historic T20I hat-trick, a memorable final-over performance against West Indies and more than 100 domestic T20 wickets.

Her contributions to New Zealand cricket continued beyond retirement through her involvement in sports management and youth development.

Now, her marriage to Cate Herbert represents another important personal milestone.

The couple’s Instagram announcement, dated October 10, 2026, celebrated their wedding in Wanaka and the beginning of their future together.
