The Rwanda Cricket Association has announced the national women’s squad set to compete in the forthcoming Nigeria Women’s Invitational T20I 2026.

Under the leadership of experienced skipper Diane Bimenyimana, the side is scheduled to travel to Nigeria on Wednesday. The tournament represents another important milestone in the continued growth of Rwandan cricket, with the “Lady Cranes” aiming to underline the skill and composure that have strengthened their reputation across the continent.

The 14-member squad brings together a well-balanced combination of experienced campaigners and emerging young prospects. Prominent performers such as Gisele Ishimwe and Henriette Ishimwe, both key figures in Rwanda’s recent international achievements, are expected to play crucial roles with bat and ball.

Dependable players including Alice Ikuzwe and Belyse Murekatete also feature in the lineup, while Ruth Uwimana and Georgette Ingabire have been named as standby reserves to provide additional cover during the demanding tournament schedule.

Participation in the international event in Lagos offers the players a valuable opportunity to compete for world ranking points and gain exposure at a higher competitive level. With challenging regional opponents awaiting them, anticipation among supporters in Rwanda remains strong. The team continues to be viewed as trailblazers for women’s sport in the country.

As preparations intensify ahead of the competition, emphasis remains firmly on collective effort and sharp execution. The squad will look to convert their training-ground preparation into positive results on the field as they represent the aspirations of their nation.
