Indian women’s cricket witnessed another remarkable milestone as Bihar’s teenage sensation Akshara Gupta produced a breathtaking unbeaten 306 in the opening match of the BCA Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy at Sandis Compound Ground in Bhagalpur.
The extraordinary knock immediately entered the record books as one of the highest individual scores in women’s domestic cricket and announced Akshara as one of the brightest young talents emerging from Bihar.
From the moment she walked to the crease, Akshara displayed complete control over the contest. The young batter attacked relentlessly, punishing anything loose and maintaining an astonishing scoring rate throughout her innings. By the end of the day, she remained unbeaten on 306 from just 126 deliveries, a knock that combined power, precision and remarkable consistency.
Her innings featured an incredible 55 boundaries and eight sixes, highlighting her dominance over the bowling attack. What made the performance even more impressive was the pace at which she accumulated runs. Akshara raced to her fifty in only 16 balls before reaching a century in just 34 deliveries, leaving the opposition with no answers.
Rather than slowing down after reaching three figures, she continued to accelerate. The bowlers tried different lengths, lines and field placements, but nothing seemed capable of stopping her. Boundaries flowed regularly as she dismantled the attack in every part of the ground.
The innings not only powered her team to a massive total but also established a new benchmark in Bihar women’s cricket. Scoring a triple century at any level is a rare achievement, but doing so at such a young age has made Akshara’s performance even more significant.
Her historic effort quickly attracted praise from officials at the Bihar Cricket Association. Association president Harshvardhan congratulated the youngster and described her innings as an example of the growing strength of women’s cricket in the state. He emphasized that Bihar’s young players are increasingly making their mark through outstanding performances and credited continued investment in player development and infrastructure.
BCA secretary Ziaul Arfin also applauded Akshara’s achievement, calling it a perfect start to the tournament. He noted that performances of this nature reflect the growing pool of talent within Bihar cricket and expressed confidence that more players from the state would continue to shine on bigger stages in the future.
Akshara’s 306 now ranks among the highest scores ever recorded in women’s domestic cricket. While Mumbai batter Ira Jadhav’s unbeaten 346 remains one of the most celebrated innings in the domestic game, Akshara’s triple century has secured its own place in cricket history.
Beyond the numbers, the innings serves as another reminder of the rapid growth of women’s cricket across India. Young players are increasingly producing performances that were once considered unimaginable, and Akshara Gupta’s record-breaking knock is the latest example of that evolution.
At an age when most players are still learning their craft, Akshara has already etched her name into the history books. Her unbeaten 306 will be remembered as one of the finest innings ever played in the BCA Women’s U-19 One-Day Trophy and could well be the beginning of a very promising cricketing journey.
