Lauren Bell produced a standout bowling performance to guide Hampshire Women to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Durham Women in the ECB Women’s One Day Cup 2026, claiming her first domestic List-A five-wicket haul.
Hampshire Bowlers Dominate Early
After choosing to bat first, Durham Women aimed to build a steady innings but were unable to gain momentum against a disciplined Hampshire attack.
Tahlia Wilson led the early effort with a composed 31 from 40 balls, including five boundaries, while Emma Marlow added 17 from 30. However, both openers fell in quick succession, leaving Durham at 59 for 2 after an initial cautious phase.
Captain Hollie Armitage attempted to accelerate with a quick 11 off 9 balls but was dismissed by Naomi Dattani, further denting Durham’s progress.
Bell Headlines Collapse
Mady Villiers and Emily Windsor briefly steadied the innings, with Villiers scoring 23 from 34 balls before being run out at 97 for 4. Windsor remained unbeaten on 21 from 56 balls but lacked support as wickets continued to fall around her.
Durham’s lower order struggled under sustained pressure. Bess Heath (3), Phoebe Turner (1), Katherine Fraser (0), Sophia Turner (0), and Lauren Filer (0) all departed cheaply, with Katie Levick (3 off 12) the final wicket as Durham were bowled out for 118 in 36.1 overs.
Bell was the standout performer, taking 5 for 22 in 8.1 overs and dismantling the middle and lower order. Amanda-Jade Wellington supported her with 2 for 18 in 10 overs, while Naomi Dattani also picked up two wickets. Linsey Smith, Bex Tyson, and Daisy Gibb maintained tight control throughout.
Hampshire Complete Comfortable Chase
Chasing 119, Hampshire approached the target with composure. Ella McCaughan was dismissed for 11 at 55 for 1, but Maia Bouchier anchored the innings with a fluent 47 from 53 balls, striking nine boundaries.
Bouchier shared a key partnership with Abi Norgrove, guiding Hampshire past the halfway mark with minimal trouble. After Bouchier fell at 86 for 2, Freya Kemp added a quick 13 from 11 balls to maintain momentum.
Norgrove remained unbeaten on 29 from 50 balls, ensuring stability as Hampshire reached 121 for 4 in 24.3 overs, completing the chase with 153 balls to spare.
Durham Unable to Defend Low Total
Durham’s bowlers had limited opportunities to influence the result due to the modest total. Katherine Fraser was the most effective with 2 for 16, while Lauren Filer and Mady Villiers claimed one wicket each.
However, the lack of runs left little margin, as Hampshire secured a convincing victory built on Bell’s match-winning spell.
