Scotland Women secured an eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh Women in the second match of the Scotland Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2026 in Edinburgh. A disciplined bowling display followed by a controlled chase helped the hosts reach the target with 26 balls remaining, with captain Kathryn Bryce leading the way with an unbeaten half-century.
Bangladesh, after being put in to bat, made a steady start but lost Juairiya Ferdous for 12 after a 16-run opening stand with Dilara Akter. Scotland struck again soon after as Dilara departed for 11, leaving the visitors at 26/2. The pressure increased when Sharmin Akhter was run out for 10, reducing Bangladesh to 46/3 in the ninth over.
Nigar Anchors Bangladesh Innings
At a crucial stage, Nigar Sultana and Sobhana Mostary steadied the innings with a 42-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Sobhana contributed 22 from 22 balls with two boundaries before being dismissed by Abtaha Maqsood.
Nigar continued to anchor the innings and found support from Shorna Akter in a 33-run stand for the fifth wicket. Shorna played an attacking knock of 22 off 15 balls, including a four and a six, before her dismissal in the nineteenth over slowed Bangladesh’s late push.
Nigar remained unbeaten on 46 from 39 deliveries, hitting five fours and a six, as Bangladesh posted 133/5 in their 20 overs, with eight extras added to the total.
Scotland’s bowlers maintained control throughout. Gabriella Fontenla, who was named Player of the Match, returned figures of 1/11 in four overs, including a maiden. Kathryn Bryce, Kirstie Gordon and Abtaha Maqsood picked up one wicket each, while Chloe Abel contributed with a steady spell.
Scotland Chase Led by Bryce Sisters
In response, Scotland made a positive start through Darcey Carter and Katherine Fraser, who added 33 runs for the opening wicket. Carter scored 23 off 17 balls with five boundaries before falling to Ritu Moni.
Fraser then combined with Kathryn Bryce for a 47-run partnership that put Scotland in a strong position. Fraser made 28 from 30 balls with three boundaries before departing at 80.
With the required rate under control, Kathryn Bryce guided the chase with authority. She produced an unbeaten 54 from 32 balls, striking four fours and three sixes.
She was supported by Sarah Bryce, who remained not out on 23 from 15 deliveries. The pair added an unbroken 54-run stand for the third wicket, taking Scotland to 134/2 in 15.4 overs and sealing the win comfortably.
Bangladesh’s bowlers found it difficult to apply sustained pressure. Ritu Moni claimed 1/34, while Shorna Akter took 1/19. Marufa Akter bowled economically but went wicketless, and the rest of the attack was unable to make further breakthroughs.
