West Indies Women completed a commanding 3-0 ODI series sweep over Ireland Women after registering a 64-run victory in the third and final One-Day International at Bready Cricket Club in Magheramason. The win sealed another successful bilateral series for the Caribbean side and earned them valuable points in the ICC Women’s Championship 2025 to 2029.

This West Indies Women vs Ireland Women review highlights the visitors’ all-round dominance throughout the series, with experienced stars and young players stepping up at crucial moments.

    Stafanie Taylor Leads Stunning Recovery

West Indies Women endured a difficult start after captain Hayley Matthews was dismissed for just seven runs. The innings quickly slipped to 48 for 4 and then 82 for 5, putting Ireland firmly in control.

However, veteran batter Stafanie Taylor once again showed her class by producing a brilliant match-winning century. She scored 105 off 113 balls, bringing up her 10th ODI hundred and her second consecutive century in the series after remaining unbeaten on 100 in the second ODI.

Taylor rebuilt the innings through two vital partnerships. She added 73 runs with Jahzara Claxton, who contributed 30, before sharing another important 50-run stand with Aaliyah Alleyne, who played an aggressive knock of 33 from just 30 balls.

Thanks to Taylor’s outstanding effort, West Indies recovered to post a competitive 257 all out in 50 overs.

    Spin Bowlers Seal the Victory

Ireland began their chase positively as captain Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter gave the hosts a solid platform.

Lewis scored a well-made 50 off 59 balls, while Hunter added 30, helping Ireland reach 81 for 1. At that stage, the chase appeared well balanced.

The momentum changed completely once the West Indies spinners took control.

Afy Fletcher produced an excellent spell of 3 for 33 from her 10 overs, breaking the middle order and triggering a collapse. Karishma Ramharack matched those figures with 3 for 33, while captain Hayley Matthews chipped in with 2 for 37.

Ireland eventually folded for 193 in 43.1 overs, handing West Indies a 64-run victory and completing the West Indies Women 3-0 Sweep.

    A Dominant ODI Series Win

The West Indies Women ODI series win reflected their superiority across all three matches.

In the opening ODI, Hayley Matthews scored 109 while Stafanie Taylor remained unbeaten on 100 as West Indies secured a nine-wicket victory.

The second ODI saw Matthews score another century with 101, while Taylor again finished unbeaten on 100 to guide the team to a six-wicket win.

The final ODI belonged to Taylor, whose brilliant 105 earned her the Player of the Match award after rescuing the innings from a difficult position.

    Championship Points Boost

Hayley Matthews was named Player of the Series after an outstanding all-round performance that included 265 runs and seven wickets.

The clean sweep also had a major impact on the ICC Women’s Championship standings. West Indies climbed to fourth place with eight points from nine matches, strengthening their hopes of qualifying for future global tournaments.

For Ireland, it was a disappointing start to the new ICC Women’s Championship cycle as they finished the series without a victory.

This West Indies Women vs Ireland Women review shows a team that continues to grow in confidence, with experienced stars like Stafanie Taylor and Hayley Matthews leading from the front. Their convincing West Indies Women 3-0 sweep once again proved why they remain one of the strongest teams in women’s ODI cricket.
