Heather Siegers delivered a standout performance to guide Netherlands Women to an eight-run victory over Bangladesh Women in the third match of the Scotland Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2026 in Edinburgh. The win marked Netherlands’ first-ever T20I triumph against Bangladesh and helped them bounce back after losing their opening match.

After Bangladesh elected to bowl, Netherlands posted a competitive 162/5 in their 20 overs, with multiple batters contributing to the total.

    Netherlands Build Solid Total

Heather Siegers led the batting effort with 52 from 43 balls, striking seven boundaries. Phebe Molkenboer provided a steady start with 29 off 24 deliveries, while Sterre Kalis added 28 from 27 balls.

Captain Babette de Leede played a quick cameo of 16 from seven balls, and Robine Rijke finished strongly with an unbeaten 18 from 10 deliveries. The Netherlands crossed the 100-run mark in the 14th over and accelerated effectively in the closing stages to post a challenging total.

For Bangladesh, Fariha Trisna was the most successful bowler with 2/26, while Rabeya Khan and Marufa Akter claimed one wicket each.

Bangladesh Fall Short Despite Nigar’s Fight

Bangladesh Women lost early wickets and were reduced to 13/2. Captain Nigar Sultana kept her side in contention with a determined 77 from 51 balls, including seven fours and a six.

Juairiya Ferdous contributed 22, and Ritu Moni added 17, but Bangladesh were unable to build sustained partnerships and continued to lose wickets at key moments. They eventually finished on 154/8, falling eight runs short.

    Siegers Completes All-Round Performance

Heather Siegers capped off her performance with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 39 runs. Silver Siegers supported well with figures of 2/24, while Iris Zwilling, Isabel van der Woning and Frederique Overdijk picked up one wicket each.

For her contributions with both bat and ball, Heather Siegers was named Player of the Match.

    Points Table Situation

The result holds significance in the context of the tri-series standings. Scotland Women remain at the top of the table with two wins from two matches. Netherlands Women move to second place with one win and one loss, while Bangladesh Women sit third after two defeats.

The victory keeps Netherlands in contention as the tournament progresses, while Bangladesh will need positive results in their remaining matches.
