England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been crowned the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for June 2026 following a spectacular run of form that helped guide England to the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup on home soil.

Wyatt-Hodge enjoyed the finest tournament of her career, finishing as the leading run-scorer with a record-breaking 302 runs. In doing so, she became the first player in the history of the Women’s T20 World Cup to score more than 300 runs in a single edition.

The award marks the second time she has received the ICC Women’s Player of the Month honour after previously winning it in November 2024. She finished ahead of Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce and India spinner Sree Charani in the voting.

    Wyatt-Hodge Delighted with ICC Recognition

Reacting to the award, Wyatt-Hodge expressed her delight at being recognised after such a memorable tournament.

“I’m delighted to win the ICC Player of the Month award, especially since it came for performances at a World Cup on home soil.”

“The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was a fantastic occasion for the game, and having the opportunity to play in the final at Lord’s is a memory that my teammates and I will cherish forever.”

    Record-Breaking World Cup Campaign

Wyatt-Hodge was England’s most consistent batter throughout June, scoring 287 runs in six matches at an outstanding average of 71.75 and an impressive strike rate of 151.85.

Five of those appearances came during the Women’s T20 World Cup, where she repeatedly delivered match-winning performances.

Her standout innings came in England’s opening match against Sri Lanka, when she smashed an unbeaten 105 to help her side post 219 runs, the joint-highest team total of the tournament.

She continued her remarkable form with a superb 65 against West Indies before producing another unbeaten innings of 89 against defending champions New Zealand. That victory eliminated New Zealand from the competition and secured England’s place in the knockout stage.

England remained unbeaten throughout the group phase before eventually reaching the World Cup final at Lord’s.

History Made in Women’s T20 World Cup

Beyond helping England reach the final, Wyatt-Hodge rewrote the tournament record books.

Her tally of 302 runs surpassed the previous record of 259 set by Australia’s Beth Mooney during the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup.

The achievement made Wyatt-Hodge the first player ever to cross the 300-run mark in a single edition of the tournament, underlining the consistency and impact of her performances throughout England’s campaign.

    A Reward for Outstanding Consistency

Although England finished runners-up after losing the final to Australia, Wyatt-Hodge emerged as one of the competition’s biggest stars.

She consistently provided strong starts at the top of the order, produced several match-defining innings and once again demonstrated why she remains among the world’s leading batters in the shortest format.

Winning the ICC Women’s Player of the Month award is further recognition of an exceptional June in which she combined record-breaking run-scoring with remarkable consistency.

With confidence high after her historic World Cup performances, Wyatt-Hodge will now look to carry that form into England’s upcoming international fixtures.
