The Blaze Women secured a dramatic four-wicket victory over Yorkshire Women in a high-scoring Women’s T20 Blast 2026 clash at Nottingham, chasing down the target with three balls to spare.

In a match filled with momentum shifts, The Blaze Women reached 181/6 in 19.3 overs to overhaul Yorkshire’s 179/5.

    Yorkshire Post Strong Total

Yorkshire Women made a steady start after being put in to bat but lost Lauren Winfield-Hill early for 7. Erin Thomas added 11 before falling, leaving the side at 25/2 in the powerplay.

Jess Jonassen and Sterre Kalis then rebuilt the innings with a crucial 76-run partnership for the third wicket. Jonassen led the scoring with 52 off 29 balls, including eight fours and a six, while Kalis contributed 47 from 40 deliveries.

Ami Campbell added 30 off 22 balls in another key stand, helping Yorkshire maintain the scoring rate. Late contributions from Maddie Ward (13*) and Beth Langston (7*) pushed the total to 179/5 from 20 overs.

Charley Phillips was the standout bowler for The Blaze with 3/31, while Kirstie Gordon picked up 2/29.

    Blaze Women Chase with Intent

In response, The Blaze Women started aggressively despite losing Tammy Beaumont for 8. Marie Kelly scored 29, while Kathryn Bryce added a quick 17 off 8 balls to keep the run rate in check.

Georgia Elwiss contributed 20 from 17 balls, forming a steady partnership before her dismissal at 120/4.

    Knott Turns the Game

The decisive moment came through Charli Knott’s outstanding innings. She struck 57 from just 29 balls, hitting nine boundaries and shifting the momentum firmly in The Blaze Women’s favour.

Knott shared a rapid stand with Sarah Bryce, who remained unbeaten on 28 from 17 balls. Even after Knott’s dismissal in the 17th over, Bryce guided the chase calmly, with Ella Claridge finishing alongside her as The Blaze reached 181/6.

    Yorkshire Fight but Fall Short

Yorkshire’s bowlers stayed competitive throughout the chase. Holly Garton impressed with 3/23, while Olivia Thomas picked up 2/26, including key wickets in the latter stages.

Despite their efforts, The Blaze Women held their nerve to complete the chase and secure a thrilling win.
