Sri Lanka Women produced a dominant performance to defeat Indonesia Women by 75 runs in Match 6 of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Sri Lanka vs Indonesia Women’s Asia Cup result was decided by a stunning bowling performance from Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu, who claimed seven wickets for just five runs.

Athapaththu also completed a hat-trick during her incredible spell, completely destroying Indonesia’s batting lineup. Nilakshi de Silva played a crucial half-century to rescue Sri Lanka after the team had suffered a major batting collapse.

Sri Lanka Post 124 for 7

Indonesia won the toss and decided to bowl first, and their bowlers made good use of the opportunity. Sri Lanka struggled to build partnerships and were reduced to 62 for six by the 13th over.

Nilakshi de Silva then changed the momentum of the innings. Coming in with Sri Lanka under serious pressure, she played an attacking innings of 50 runs from 35 balls.

De Silva hit three fours and one six and showed excellent composure under pressure. She also shared an important 50-run partnership with Kawya Kavindi, who remained unbeaten on 15 from 19 balls.

Their efforts helped Sri Lanka reach 124 for seven from their 20 overs. Ni Luh Dewi was Indonesia’s best bowler, finishing with three wickets for 32 runs, while Sang Maypriani claimed two wickets for 19 runs.

    Chamari Athapaththu Produces Historic Spell

Indonesia made a cautious start and reached 18 runs before Athapaththu entered the attack. The Sri Lankan captain immediately changed the game. Her control, drift and accuracy proved too difficult for the Indonesian batters, as she continued taking wickets at regular intervals.

The biggest of the Sri Lanka Women vs Indonesia Women highlights is Athapaththu finishing with extraordinary figures of seven wickets for only five runs in 3.3 overs. She also completed a hat-trick, making her spell one of the most remarkable bowling performances in the history of the women’s game.

Indonesia were eventually bowled out for just 49 in 18.3 overs. Ni Made Putri Suwandewi top-scored with an unbeaten 12 from 32 balls, while Rahmawati Pangestuti contributed 10 from 14 deliveries.

    Key Performers

Chamari Athapaththu: The Sri Lankan captain was named Player of the Match after taking 7/5 in 3.3 overs and scoring nine runs. Her hat-trick and seven-wicket haul completely changed the match.

Nilakshi de Silva: De Silva played the key batting role for Sri Lanka, scoring 50 from 35 balls with three fours and a six. Her innings helped Sri Lanka recover from 45 for five and reach a competitive total.

Ni Luh Dewi: Indonesia’s leading bowler took three wickets for 32 runs and removed important Sri Lankan batters, including Athapaththu and de Silva.

Sugandika Kumari: Kumari provided excellent control with the ball during the powerplay. She conceded only three runs in three overs, including one maiden, putting early pressure on Indonesia.

SL W vs INA W Scorecard

The SL W vs INA W scorecard shows a match dominated by Sri Lanka’s bowling after Indonesia’s impressive start with the ball.

Sri Lanka scored 124/7 in 20 overs, with Nilakshi de Silva making 50. Indonesia were then dismissed for 49 in 18.3 overs, with Athapaththu taking seven wickets.

The 75 run victory gives Sri Lanka a strong start to their Women’s Asia Cup 2026 campaign. Athapaththu’s historic spell will remain the biggest talking point from a one-sided contest in Dubai.
