India Women produced another dominant performance at the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, defeating Hong Kong, China Women by 137 runs in Match 7 of the tournament. The match was played on Thursday, September 3, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Hong Kong, China won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, the decision did little to stop India’s powerful batting unit, as Smriti Mandhana produced a stunning century to help India post 193/5 in 20 overs. Hong Kong struggled during the chase and were bowled out for just 56 in 16.2 overs.

India’s victory also confirmed their place in the semi-finals. After beating Thailand and Hong Kong in their opening matches, India became the first team to secure a spot in the knockout stage.

The biggest highlight of the match was undoubtedly Smriti Mandhana’s remarkable innings. The India opener smashed 124 runs from just 64 balls, hitting 14 fours and seven sixes during an outstanding display of attacking batting.
Mandhana’s innings helped her surpass Mithali Raj to become the leading run-scorer in women’s international cricket. She also registered the highest individual T20I score by an Indian woman.
She received excellent support at the start of the innings from Shafali Verma. The explosive opener scored 28 runs from 17 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Verma and Mandhana put together a 60-run opening partnership to give India an excellent platform.

Hong Kong’s chase quickly fell apart once India’s spinners came into the attack. Deepti Sharma led the bowling effort with 3/9 from three overs, while Nandani Sharma took 2/6. Prema Rawat and Shree Charani also picked up two wickets each.

Deepti Sharma added another major milestone to an already memorable Indian performance. Her three-wicket haul helped her become the all time leading wicket-taker in women’s T20I cricket.
India’s spin attack completely controlled the second innings, restricting Hong Kong to only 56 runs. The 137-run victory was India’s second consecutive comprehensive win of the tournament.
With Mandhana in outstanding form and the bowling unit producing another clinical performance, India will enter the semi-finals with plenty of confidence. The team will now look to continue its winning run and challenge for another Women’s Asia Cup title.
