India Women’s Asia Cup Campaign: Chasing the Title

India Women’s Asia Cup 2026: Can Harmanpreet Kaur’s Side Reclaim the Title?

India came to the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup with a clear objective: to reclaim the continental crown. For fans following the tournament on 1xBet, the action began on August 28 in the UAE, with the final scheduled for September 13. India started their campaign on August 30 against Thailand, securing a 94-run win. Their next match with Hong Kong is on September 3, followed by the much-anticipated clash with Pakistan on September 5 at the Dubai International Stadium.

It is crucial to note the context surrounding India’s chase for the cup. Sri Lanka took the title from them in the 2024 edition after defeating them by eight wickets in the final at Dambulla.

India’s team is led by Harmanpreet Kaur, with Smriti Mandhana as her vice-captain. The team comprises some well-known names in international cricket along with those who can make an impression on the T20 format. Deepti Sharma continues to be a brilliant all-rounder, while Richa Ghosh adds variety with her wicket-keeping and explosive batting skills. In the bowling department, India have a mix of pace and spin options: Renuka Thakur, Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil.

However, there is one unfortunate occurrence: shortly before the tournament, Jemimah Rodrigues suffered a high-grade right hamstring tear during her participation in The Hundred. She will be unavailable for the upcoming tournaments – the Asia Cup as well as the Asian Games. Pratika Rawal will be taking her place in the squad. It is yet another chance for India to assess its batting depth, despite being a difficult one.

India’s fixtures in the group stages provide a good buildup towards the most important match. India’s opening game against Thailand is followed by a fixture vs Hong Kong. India’s match against Pakistan will undoubtedly be the most awaited game because of the history of the two teams. But for India, the most important aspect will be winning it to carry forward the momentum in the knock-out stage.

The playing conditions in the UAE can also play an important part in adapting to the new scenario as T20 matches are usually decided on a short spell of dominance. India will have to rely on their disciplined bowling, powerplay batting, and good decision-making in the middle overs.

Fans who are keen on keeping up with the tournament will be pleased to know that there are many chances of watching India’s matches, players’ statistics and more during the Asia Cup. When accessing those in the 1xBet app, they can get all the details regarding the fixtures, rules and match results.

India come into this Asia Cup with vast experience, skillset and a winning record at the women’s Asian cricket tournaments. However, since Sri Lanka denied India another Asia Cup title in 2024 to end India’s long-term dominance of the tournament, it means that there is no place for complacency here. The goal for 2026 is to reclaim the trophy. With good batting skills, bowling, and consistency, India have excellent chances to win back the Asia Cup title in the final.
