India women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur feels great about Omaxe Limited introducing the country’s first dedicated ‘Pink Stand’ at the upcoming cricket stadium in Dwarka, Delhi. The initiative is aimed at enhancing safety and comfort for women spectators attending matches in Indian venues.
Speaking to ANI at the launch event, Harmanpreet expressed her appreciation for the concept and its significance for women supporters. “I am feeling very good. The stand belongs to all the women. It is a great feeling. I thank Omaxe.”
The project follows India’s historic success in women’s cricket. Under Harmanpreet’s leadership, the team secured its maiden ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup title in November 2025. The skipper played a key role in the campaign, contributing 260 runs from eight innings, including a decisive knock of 89 in the semi-final against Australia.
Harmanpreet also addressed preparations for the forthcoming tour of South Africa, which will feature five T20Is ahead of the T20 World Cup in England. “That was the reason behind it before the World Cup, if we can go and play some matches in South Africa. Hopefully, this tour will tick all the boxes that we as a team are taking there.”
Omaxe Managing Director Mohit Goel explained the inspiration behind the initiative, linking it to India’s World Cup triumph. “When I saw her taking that catch and winning the World Cup on 2nd November, we were contemplating and thinking how we can give back to her and give back to women’s cricket and all throughout the country. So that’s when we thought, let’s make a pink stand so that women should feel secure and absolutely safe while watching the match, and they can enjoy it, and they don’t have to worry about anything else,” Goel revealed.
