Durham Cricket have confirmed that England all-rounder Phoebe Turner has signed a contract extension, keeping her at the club through to the end of the 2027 season.

Turner enjoyed a standout campaign in 2025, emerging as one of the most effective seam-bowling all-rounders in the domestic circuit. Her impact with the ball was particularly notable, with her wicket-taking ability proving a key asset across competitions. Alongside that, she contributed with the bat, showing the technique to stabilise innings as well as the ability to accelerate when required.

“I’m really excited, I think for me this is the place I want to play at, and I’ve really thrived in this environment. The coaches have been amazing, and the girls have been great too. All we want to do is bring some silverware up to the North East.

“I’ve absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to get going in the 2026 season. The environment here is amazing; I speak very highly of Durham away from here as well. I absolutely love playing at Chester-le-Street, and calling this ground my home ground is a really cool feeling,” Turner said after signing the new deal.

    Strong domestic performances

Turner delivered an impressive showing in the ECB Women’s One-Day Cup 2025, making valuable contributions with both bat and ball. She claimed 22 wickets in 13 innings at an economy rate of 5.16.

Her best bowling performance came against Essex Women, where she returned figures of 4 for 33. With the bat, she scored 159 runs across 13 innings at an average of 15, adding useful runs lower down the order. In T20 cricket, she also registered her best figures of 3 for 17 against Hampshire Hawks in the T20 Blast.

    Recognition at higher levels

“It’s fantastic news that Phoebe has committed to Durham Cricket for at least another two years. Phoebe is an exceptionally talented cricketer and has earned this contract extension after another strong season in the domestic game. She is a player with immense potential, something that has already been recognised through her selection for England A and her inclusion in the England performance programme this winter,” said Marcus North, Durham’s Director of Cricket.

Her performances have been rewarded with a call-up to England A, along with franchise opportunities at Southern Brave and London Spirit in The Hundred. During her ODI appearances for England A, she picked up five wickets in two matches. She was also included in England’s 2025/2026 winter Performance Programme.
