India’s campaign at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has started in impressive fashion, and one player has stood out above the rest. Deepti Sharma delivered a match-winning performance against Pakistan and once again proved why she is one of India’s most dependable players on the biggest stage.

The latest Deepti Sharma World Cup performance showed her ability to stay calm under pressure and produce game changing moments when her team needs them most.

    Deepti Takes Control Against Pakistan

India posted a strong total of 170 for 6 against Pakistan at Edgbaston. However, Pakistan began their chase confidently and reached 52 for 1 during the powerplay, their highest powerplay score against India in Women’s T20 Internationals.

At that stage, the match appeared to be moving in Pakistan’s favor.

That is when Deepti Sharma stepped forward and changed the course of the game.

After missing a difficult catch earlier, she quickly bounced back by dismissing Gull Feroza with a clever delivery. The breakthrough gave India much needed momentum and helped slow Pakistan’s scoring rate.

Soon after, Deepti produced another key moment. She hit the stumps directly to run out Muneeba Ali, who had been looking dangerous after scoring 41 runs.

The dismissal shifted the pressure firmly onto Pakistan.

    Deepti Sharma Bowling Analysis

Any Deepti Sharma bowling analysis from this match highlights her intelligence and adaptability.

Instead of relying on pace, Deepti used variation and control to outsmart the batters. She bowled slower through the air and encouraged Pakistan’s players to take risks.

The Edgbaston surface offered some assistance for spin bowling, and Deepti used those conditions perfectly. Her ability to change her pace and length made it difficult for batters to settle.

The result was a remarkable spell that completely transformed the match.

In her final over, Deepti removed three batters in quick succession and finished with outstanding figures of 5 wickets for just 10 runs from four overs.

It was one of the finest bowling displays seen in Women’s T20 World Cup history.

Deepti Sharma Records Continue to Grow

The performance was not only important for India’s victory but also for the record books.

Among the biggest Deepti Sharma records achieved during the match was becoming the leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20 International cricket. She reached 166 wickets and moved ahead of Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong.

Her figures of 5 for 10 also became the best bowling performance by an Indian player in Women’s T20 World Cup history.

The achievement further strengthened her reputation as one of the greatest all round performers in women’s cricket.

In addition, Deepti moved level with Indian legend Jhulan Goswami for the most international wickets by an Indian woman across all formats.

    Thriving Under Pressure

One of the most impressive aspects of the Deepti Sharma World Cup performance was her composure. Even when Pakistan started strongly, she remained calm and trusted her skills.

Deepti later explained that she enjoys pressure situations and focuses on applying the same methods she practices every day.

That mindset has helped her become a match winner for India time and time again.

A Perfect Start to the Tournament

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has begun on a positive note for India, and Deepti Sharma has been at the heart of that success.

Her outstanding display against Pakistan showcased her experience, skill, and ability to perform when it matters most. With more matches still to come, India will hope that Deepti continues adding to her growing list of achievements and records.
