Katie Mack’s return to the New South Wales Breakers in the WNCL 2025–26 season proved to be a defining chapter in her career, as she was awarded the Belinda Clark Medal following a dominant campaign with the bat.

Rejoining her home state side, Mack brought stability and experience to the top order, quickly establishing herself as a key figure in the lineup. Her performances were marked not only by consistency but also by her ability to guide the innings in challenging situations.

    Consistency Defines Mack’s Campaign

Across 13 matches, Mack accumulated 659 runs to finish as the leading run-scorer in the competition. She maintained an impressive average of 59.90, highlighting her reliability throughout the season.

Her ability to spend time at the crease was evident, facing 736 deliveries — the highest among all batters — reinforcing her role as a central pillar of the Breakers’ batting unit.

    Repeated Big Contributions

Rather than relying on isolated performances, Mack delivered consistently across the tournament. She registered six half-centuries and came close to a century on multiple occasions, with a highest score of 99.

Her strike rate of nearly 90 reflected a balanced approach, combining control with the ability to accelerate when required. Over the season, she struck 75 boundaries, the most in the competition.

    Influence Beyond Numbers

Beyond her statistical achievements, Mack’s return to the Breakers brought leadership and experience to the squad. Her presence provided guidance for younger players while offering stability in key moments during matches.

Her performances demonstrated a strong understanding of match situations, allowing her to anchor innings and contribute to competitive totals.

    Recognition of a Standout Season

Winning the Belinda Clark Medal marks a significant milestone in Mack’s career, recognising both her individual output and her broader contribution to the team.

Her 2025–26 WNCL campaign stands as one of consistency and impact, underlining her importance to New South Wales and reaffirming her place among the leading performers in domestic women’s cricket.
