The Women’s Hundred is entering its final week, with the race for the playoffs becoming increasingly intense. India, however, suffered a setback after Jemimah Rodrigues was ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a hamstring injury. Southern Brave confirmed the news ahead of their match against Manchester Super Giants on August 8.

The other three Indian players in the competition remain firmly involved in the playoff battle. Over the past three days, Deepti Sharma appeared twice for Sunrisers Leeds, facing Birmingham Phoenix on August 7 in Birmingham and Welsh Fire on August 9 in Leeds. Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh, meanwhile, represented Manchester Super Giants against Southern Brave in Southampton.

All three made important contributions to victories for their respective teams.

Deepti Sharma Finds Form With the Ball

Deepti has rediscovered her rhythm at a crucial stage of the tournament, particularly with the ball. The experienced all-rounder did not get a chance to bat in her last two matches, but she made a major impact with six wickets across those games.

She returned figures of 3/11 against Birmingham Phoenix before following it up with another excellent spell of 3/13 against Welsh Fire.

Deepti had started the competition with two wickets before going without a wicket in three consecutive matches. Her form has changed dramatically since then, with eight wickets coming in her last three appearances.

With 10 wickets in total, she is now joint-second on the tournament’s wicket-taking chart. Her return to form has come at the right time, with Sunrisers Leeds involved in crucial matches in their push for the playoffs.

Mandhana and Richa Build Match-Winning Partnership

Smriti Mandhana entered the game against Southern Brave after scoring only 15 against Welsh Fire in her previous outing. She responded with another valuable innings, making 46 from 36 deliveries.

The key moment for Manchester Super Giants was the 83-run partnership between Mandhana and Richa Ghosh, which laid the foundation for their total of 139/4.

Richa, promoted to No. 3, made full use of the opportunity. She struck 54 from 34 balls at a strike rate of 158.82, registering her first half-century of the season.

Her innings arrived at an important moment for Manchester Super Giants, who secured a 27-run victory and kept their playoff hopes alive.

    Crucial Manchester Clash Ahead

Attention now turns to August 11, when all three remaining Indian players will feature in the same fixture.

Manchester Super Giants, represented by Mandhana and Richa, will take on Deepti’s Sunrisers Leeds in Manchester. With both teams still fighting for qualification, the match could effectively serve as a quarter-final, with the winner well placed to move into the next round.

Team India Players in Women’s Hundred 2026

Smriti Mandhana: 204 runs in six innings, average 40.80, strike rate 136, one fifty — highest run-scorer for Manchester Super Giants and fifth overall.

Richa Ghosh: 101 runs in six innings, average 20.20, strike rate 131.16, one fifty.

Jemimah Rodrigues: 143 runs in six innings, average 35.75, strike rate 131.19.

Deepti Sharma: 29 runs in two innings, average 14.50, strike rate 131.81, and 10 wickets in seven innings — joint-second on the overall wicket-taking list.
