The Indian women’s cricket team will create history in October 2026 when they host Zimbabwe Women for a six match white ball series. The India Women vs Zimbabwe 2026 series will feature three T20 Internationals followed by three One-Day Internationals. It will be the first-ever bilateral international series between the two women’s teams.

Apart from being a historic occasion, the ODI leg will also carry important qualification points in the ICC Women’s Championship 2025 to 2029 cycle. The series gives India a valuable opportunity to strengthen its position in the race for automatic qualification for the next Women’s Cricket World Cup.

India Women vs Zimbabwe 2026 Schedule

The six match series will be played across two venues in India. Raipur will host the T20I matches, while Vadodara will stage the ODI series.

The T20I leg will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur. The first T20I is scheduled for October 16, followed by the second match on October 18 and the third on October 20. All three games will begin at 7:00 PM IST.

The India Women Zimbabwe ODI series will then move to the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara. The first ODI will be played on October 23, followed by the second on October 25 and the third on October 28. All three day and night matches will start at 2:00 PM IST.

    Historic First Bilateral Series

The India Women vs Zimbabwe 2026 series is a landmark event for both teams. Although the two sides have previously faced each other in multi team tournaments, they have never played an official bilateral international series.

The teams last met during the 2017 South Africa Quadrangular series, but this will be Zimbabwe Women’s first official tour of India. The series is expected to strengthen cricketing ties between the two nations while providing Zimbabwe valuable experience against one of the strongest teams in women’s cricket.

    Important ICC Women’s Championship Matches

The India Women Zimbabwe ODI series carries even greater importance because all three ODIs are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025 to 2029.

Every victory will earn valuable championship points that contribute towards qualification for the next ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. India will be aiming to collect maximum points and establish a strong position early in the qualification cycle.

Winning home matches has always been important in the championship, and the Indian team will look to take full advantage of familiar conditions.

Busy Home Season for India Women

The Zimbabwe tour forms an important part of India’s packed home calendar for the 2026 season. Alongside the international series, the BCCI has also scheduled several development tours involving Australia A, England A, Sri Lanka Under 19, and England Under 19 teams.

These matches are expected to provide valuable opportunities for emerging players while strengthening India’s overall women’s cricket structure.

    Exciting Opportunity for Both Teams

The India Women vs Zimbabwe 2026 series promises to be a memorable occasion. For India, it is an opportunity to continue building momentum in the ICC Women’s Championship and prepare for future global tournaments.

For Zimbabwe Women, the historic tour represents a chance to gain valuable international experience against one of the world’s leading sides. With competitive T20Is followed by crucial ODI encounters, the India Women Zimbabwe ODI series is set to be one of the highlights of the women’s cricket calendar in October 2026.
