India opener Smriti Mandhana has moved to the summit of the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings after her performances in the recently completed three-match series against Australia.
Mandhana now leads the table with 790 rating points, overtaking South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who sits on 782. Wolvaardt will have a chance to regain the top position when South Africa face New Zealand across March and April.
Alyssa Healy, who struck a century in her final ODI appearance, occupies fourth place in the latest rankings with 744 points. She is positioned between Beth Mooney (749) in third and Ashleigh Gardner (724) in fifth.
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur is the only other Indian in the top 10, placed ninth, while Jemimah Rodrigues stands 12th in the list.
King Ends Ecclestone’s Long Reign
In the bowling rankings, Australia’s Alana King has climbed to the No.1 spot with 775 rating points, bringing an end to Sophie Ecclestone’s run at the top that had lasted nearly four years.
The leg-spinner collected seven wickets in the series, including figures of four for 33 in 10 overs in the third ODI, a performance that contributed to Australia’s 185-run win. The surge has taken King to her maiden No.1 ranking and represents a career-best rating.
Australia have strong representation in the bowling top eight, with Gardner ranked third, Annabel Sutherland fifth, Megan Schutt seventh and Kim Garth eighth.
Deepti Sharma is the sole Indian bowler inside the top 10, occupying the 10th position.
All-Rounder Standings
Gardner also leads the ODI all-rounder rankings with 516 points, holding a substantial advantage over West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, who is second with 418. Deepti features among the top 10 all-rounders as well, placed fifth.
