Chamari Athapaththu and Pathum Nissanka were the biggest winners at the Sri Lanka Cricket Awards, claiming the Women’s and Men’s Cricketer of the Year honours after outstanding performances during the 2025 calendar year.
The ceremony recognised achievements across Test, ODI and T20I cricket, while also celebrating domestic competitions, emerging players and distinguished contributors to the game.

Athapaththu further strengthened her status as one of Sri Lanka’s greatest women’s cricketers by collecting several individual honours.
She was named the best all-rounder in both ODIs and T20Is, while also winning the best T20I batter award after scoring 190 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 113.77.
With the ball, Athapaththu was named the best ODI bowler after taking 13 wickets in 11 innings.
Harshitha Samarawickrama won the best ODI batter award after scoring 441 runs in 13 innings, ahead of Nilakshika de Silva, who made 389 runs.
Kavisha Dilhari was named the best T20I bowler after taking eight wickets in eight innings.
Nissanka Leads Men’s Awards
Nissanka enjoyed a prolific year across formats, scoring 1,414 international runs at an average of 40.40.
He made 388 Test runs in only five innings, including two centuries, while adding 401 ODI runs from 12 matches.
His strongest performances came in T20Is, where he scored 625 runs from 18 matches at a strike rate of 149.16.
Nissanka was named the best batter in both Tests and T20Is.
Charith Asalanka won the ODI batting award after scoring 494 runs at an average of 44.90, narrowly ahead of Kusal Mendis, who made 500 runs at 38.46.
Bowling and All-Round Awards
Dushmantha Chameera won the men’s T20I bowling award after taking 22 wickets in 14 matches.
Asitha Fernando claimed the ODI bowling prize with 23 wickets from 12 games, while Prabath Jayasuriya was named the best Test bowler after taking 15 wickets in seven innings.
Dasun Shanaka won the T20I all-rounder award after scoring 220 runs and taking eight wickets across 17 matches.
Wanindu Hasaranga was named the best ODI all-rounder after scoring 207 runs and claiming 18 wickets in 10 matches.
Test captain Dhananjaya de Silva took the best Test all-rounder award.
Emerging Players Recognised
Kamil Mishara was named Men’s Emerging Player of the Year after an impressive season, particularly in T20Is.
The 25-year-old scored 336 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 131.25.
Imesha Dulani won the Women’s Emerging Player of the Year award after scoring 106 runs across three T20I innings, with a high score of 50.
Both players also strengthened their cases with strong recent performances, including Mishara’s Lanka Premier League form and Dulani’s unbeaten 101 against Pakistan.
Domestic Cricket Awards
The ceremony also recognised leading performers in Sri Lanka’s domestic competitions.
Navy Sports Club won the Major Club Women’s 50 Over Tournament, with Athapaththu named MVP, Samarawickrama best batter and Inoka Ranaweera best bowler.
Colombo Cricket Club claimed both the men’s T20 and 50-over titles.
In the T20 competition, Vishen Halambage won both the best batter and MVP awards, while Sampath Nishshanka was named best bowler and Dushan Hemantha best all-rounder.
In the 50-over competition, Nishan Madushka was named MVP, Sangeeth Cooray best batter, Movin Subasingha best bowler and Thanuka Dabare best all-rounder.
Colts Cricket Club won the Major Club 3-Day Tournament, with Wanuja Sahan named MVP. Lahiru Udara claimed the best batter award and Dilum Sudeera was named best bowler.
Veteran official Ravindra Kottahachchi was also recognised as Umpire of the Year.
The awards night ultimately belonged to Athapaththu and Nissanka, whose performances across 2025 underlined their importance to Sri Lankan cricket.
