Botswana Women delivered a clinical all-round performance to defeat Mozambique Women by 81 runs in Match 20 of the Kalahari Women’s T20I Tournament 2026, sealing their place in the Super League Final with authority.
Batting first, Botswana built their innings on solid partnerships before backing it up with a ruthless bowling display led by captain Tuelo Shadrack.
Strong opening sets the platform
Botswana made a steady start through Pako Mapotsane and Laura Mophakedi, who stitched together a 47-run opening stand. The pair balanced caution with intent, rotating strike while punishing loose deliveries.
Mapotsane anchored the innings with a composed 41 off 48 balls, striking five boundaries, while Mophakedi added a fluent 27 off 29 balls. Their partnership provided the ideal foundation before Mophakedi fell in the ninth over.
Mapotsane continued to lead the charge, combining with Oratile Kgeresi for a crucial 60-run stand that lifted the scoring rate in the middle overs. Kgeresi contributed a brisk 24 off 23 balls, maintaining momentum.
Late contributions push Botswana to 139
Mozambique managed to pick up a few wickets late, including Mapotsane and Goabilwe Matome (14 off 10), but Botswana’s lower order ensured a strong finish.
Amantle Mokgotlhe added a quick unbeaten 7 off 4 balls, while captain Tuelo Shadrack remained not out as Botswana posted a competitive 139/4 in 20 overs, aided by 23 extras.
Mozambique’s bowlers showed patches of discipline, with Angelica Salomao, Laura Chipanga, and Regina Mazumba picking up a wicket each, but they struggled to contain the flow of runs.
Shadrack’s brilliance dismantles Mozambique
Chasing 140, Mozambique’s innings unraveled almost immediately under relentless pressure from Botswana’s bowlers. Captain Tuelo Shadrack led from the front with a sensational spell, removing key batters early to reduce Mozambique to 3/6 inside the powerplay.
Shadrack’s figures of 4/3 in four overs proved match-defining, as she dismantled the top order with precision and control.
She received excellent support from her bowling unit. Amantle Mokgotlhe picked up 2/17, Goabilwe Matome returned 1/14, and Oratile Kgeresi added 1/7, ensuring no partnerships could develop.
Mozambique collapse under pressure
Mozambique struggled to recover from the early collapse, slipping from 21/4 to 27/6 as wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.
Regina Mazumba offered brief resistance with an unbeaten 17, while Cristina Magaia contributed 10, but the lack of partnerships proved costly. The side was eventually bowled out for 58 in 16.4 overs.
Pako Mapotsane also chipped in with the ball, claiming two wickets to wrap up the innings.
Botswana march into the final
This emphatic victory underlined Botswana Women’s dominance across all departments. Their ability to build partnerships, finish strongly, and execute with the ball makes them one of the most balanced sides in the tournament.
With Tuelo Shadrack leading from the front, Botswana now head into the Super League Final full of confidence and momentum.
