The Women’s Asia Cup 2026 presentation ceremony in Dubai celebrated India’s successful title campaign after they defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India lifted their eighth Women’s Asia Cup title after another dominant tournament campaign. Although India team refused to receive women’s Asia Cup trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, Women’s Asia Cup 2026 awards ceremony also recognised the individual performers who made a major impact throughout the competition.
Shafali Verma Wins Player of the Tournament
India opener Shafali Verma was the standout performer of the tournament and received the Player of the Tournament award. She finished as the leading run-scorer with 236 runs from five innings at a strike rate close to 170.
Shafali also produced three half-centuries during the competition and played a crucial role in India’s successful campaign. Her best performance came in the final, where she scored 68 from 39 balls and helped India establish a commanding position against Sri Lanka.
She also shared a record 129-run opening partnership with Smriti Mandhana in the final. Shafali’s performances throughout the tournament made her one of India’s most important players and earned her both the overall award and the Player of the Match prize in the final.
Shafali Wins Final Player of the Match
Shafali was named Player of the Match after her outstanding performance in the title clash. She reached her half-century from only 24 balls, setting the record for the fastest fifty in Women’s Asia Cup history.
Apart from her batting contribution, Shafali also took the wicket of Hasini Perera and finished with bowling figures of 1/13 from two overs. Her all-round contribution further strengthened her case for the individual award.
Tournament Leaders
The Women’s Asia Cup award winners list also included several other Indian performers. Deepti Sharma finished as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets, including figures of 3/19 in the final.
Smriti Mandhana recorded the highest individual score of the tournament, smashing 124 from 64 balls against Hong Kong. Shree Charani produced the best bowling figures in an innings in the final, taking 4/14 against Sri Lanka.
The final also produced the tournament’s highest partnership, with Shafali and Mandhana adding 129 runs for the first wicket.
Full Player of the Match List
The tournament featured several different Player of the Match winners across the group stage and knockout matches. Naruemol Chaiwai won the award in Thailand’s match against Hong Kong, while Chethana Vimukthi received it for Sri Lanka against the UAE.
Shafali Verma was named Player of the Match against Thailand, Nahida Akter won the award for Bangladesh against Indonesia and Muneeba Ali received it for Pakistan against Thailand. Chamari Athapaththu was recognised in Sri Lanka’s match against Indonesia, while Smriti Mandhana won the award against Hong Kong.
Esha Oza was named Player of the Match for the UAE against Indonesia, while Shree Charani received the award against Pakistan. Harshitha Samarawickrama won it for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh, and Nashra Sandhu was recognised in Pakistan’s match against Hong Kong.
Nahida Akter claimed another award against the UAE. In the semi-finals, Shafali Verma and Fatima Sana were named Player of the Match for India against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka against Pakistan respectively.
Shafali then completed a memorable tournament by winning the Player of the Match award in the final as well as the overall Player of the Tournament honour.
