West Indies Women completed a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe after securing an eight-wicket victory in the third and final match in Harare. Stafanie Taylor starred with both bat and ball, while also becoming only the fourth player in women’s T20I history to score 3,000 runs and take 100 wickets.
Ndhlovu’s Fifty Lifts Zimbabwe to 142
After choosing to bat first, Zimbabwe posted 142/6 in their 20 overs, thanks largely to opener Kelis Ndhlovu, who scored 63 from 48 deliveries. Her innings included six boundaries and three sixes and brought up her fifth T20I half-century.
Zimbabwe reached 40/1 during the powerplay before Taylor made an immediate impact with the ball. She dismissed Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano to claim her 100th T20I wicket before later removing Chiedza Dhururu.
Late contributions helped Zimbabwe finish strongly, with Ndhlovu and Christine Mutasa adding 40 runs for the fifth wicket from just 27 balls. Mutasa remained unbeaten on 24.
Taylor finished with outstanding figures of 2/8 from four overs, while Jahzara Claxton also claimed two wickets.
Taylor and Claxton Guide Chase
West Indies made light work of the chase, reaching 143/2 with 18 balls remaining. Jahzara Claxton laid the platform with 38 from 37 balls before sharing a 71-run partnership for the second wicket with Taylor.
Taylor then carried her bat, finishing unbeaten on 64 from just 39 deliveries, striking 11 fours to lead the visitors home comfortably.
The decisive phase came during the middle overs, where West Indies scored 85 runs while losing only one wicket, compared with Zimbabwe’s 61 runs for the loss of three wickets over the same period.
Taylor and Claxton Earn Awards
Taylor was named Player of the Match for her all-round performance after producing an unbeaten half-century and taking two wickets.
Claxton received the Player of the Series award after contributing 73 runs and claiming seven wickets across the three-match T20I series.
The victory completed a highly successful tour for West Indies, who had earlier won the three-match ODI series 2-1 before sweeping the T20I series 3-0.
