United Arab Emirates Women kept their Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 semi-final hopes alive with a comfortable six-wicket victory over Indonesia at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
After a strong collective bowling effort restricted Indonesia to a modest total, Esha Oza led the chase with 30 from 29 balls as UAE completed victory with 41 balls remaining.
Kotte Strikes Twice in First Two Balls
Indonesia were immediately under pressure after Suraksha Kotte struck with the first two deliveries of the match.
Captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini provided the main resistance, scoring 39 and sharing a 32-run partnership with Desi Wulandari.
However, UAE continued to take wickets regularly. Kotte finished with three wickets, while Esha Oza, Heena Hotchandani and Vaishnave Mahesh picked up two each.
Wulandari made 10 from 28 balls and was the only other Indonesia batter to reach double figures.
Once Sakarini fell on the final ball of the 16th over, the lower order quickly collapsed.
Oza Guides UAE Chase
UAE began their chase steadily as Theertha Satish and Oza added 17 for the opening wicket.
After Theertha was dismissed, Oza increased the tempo, striking boundaries in the sixth and eighth overs. Rinitha Rajith then added further momentum with three fours in the ninth over.
Oza eventually fell for 30 from 29 balls at the start of the 11th over.
Brief Wobble Before Comfortable Finish
UAE briefly slipped from 62/1 to 68/4 after Ni Ariani dismissed Oza and Sofia Velic claimed two wickets in the following over.
However, with only a handful of runs remaining, the hosts completed the chase at the start of the 14th over to seal a six-wicket win.
The victory earned UAE two important points and kept their semi-final chances alive. They must now beat Bangladesh on September 8 and hope other results also go in their favour.
For Indonesia, the defeat brought an end to their maiden Asia Cup campaign, with the team finishing the group stage without a win.
