India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has created cricket history by becoming the first player ever, male or female, to play 200 T20 International matches. She achieved the remarkable feat during India’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against South Africa at Old Trafford, adding another unforgettable chapter to her legendary career.

The milestone highlights Harmanpreet’s consistency, fitness, and longevity at the highest level. Having made her T20I debut against England in June 2009, she has represented India for 17 years and continues to be one of the most influential figures in women’s cricket.

Here is a look at the most capped T20I players in international cricket and the incredible T20I career records they have achieved.

    1. Harmanpreet Kaur (India) – 200 Matches

The biggest headline belongs to Harmanpreet Kaur 200 T20Is, a milestone no other cricketer has reached.

The Indian captain has played 200 T20Is since her debut in 2009, making her the most capped player in the history of the format. Throughout her career, Harmanpreet has been known for her aggressive batting, calm leadership, and ability to perform in pressure situations.

Her achievement reflects years of dedication and consistent performances for India across multiple World Cups and bilateral series.

    2. Suzie Bates (New Zealand) – 184 Matches

New Zealand legend Suzie Bates ranks second among the most capped T20I players with 184 appearances.

Since making her debut in 2007, Bates has been one of the most dependable all-round players in women’s cricket. Her contributions with both bat and ball have made her one of New Zealand’s greatest cricketers.

    3. Danni Wyatt-Hodge (England) – 183 Matches

England opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge occupies third place with 183 T20I appearances.

Since her debut in 2010, she has become one of England’s most explosive batters. Her aggressive style and consistency have helped England remain among the strongest teams in women’s T20 cricket.

    4. Ellyse Perry (Australia) – 177 Matches

Australian superstar Ellyse Perry sits fourth on the list with 177 T20I matches.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest all rounders in cricket history, Perry has enjoyed a remarkable international career since 2008. She has played a major role in Australia’s dominance across world cricket.

    5. Smriti Mandhana (India) – 169 Matches

India’s Smriti Mandhana completes the top five with 169 T20I appearances.

Since making her debut in 2013, Mandhana has established herself as one of the finest opening batters in women’s cricket. Her elegant stroke play and consistency have made her a key player for India in every major tournament.

    Men’s T20I Appearance Leaders

Among the men’s most capped T20I players, Ireland captain Paul Stirling leads with 163 matches.

Former India captain Rohit Sharma follows with 159 appearances before retiring from T20 Internationals after India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. George Dockrell, Jos Buttler, and Mohammad Nabi also feature among the leading appearance-makers in men’s T20Is.

    A Historic Achievement for Harmanpreet

The Harmanpreet Kaur 200 T20Is milestone is one of the greatest T20I career records in cricket history. No other player has reached the 200-match mark, making her achievement truly unique.

India’s presence on the all-time appearance charts is equally impressive, with Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Rohit Sharma all featuring among the game’s most experienced players. As Harmanpreet continues her international journey, her record is likely to stand as one of the defining achievements in the history of T20 cricket.
